Obituary: Jane was born on 7, 1924, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, to George Washington Trimble and Marion Bertha Kramer. She passed away at Kittitas Valley Rehabilitation in Ellensburg, Washington on 16, 2014. Some of her happiest memories were on her grandparents farm, where she gained an appreciation and love for animals and poetry. In her early years, Jane was a pioneer. Her family was chosen to homestead in Alaska as part of President Roosevelts New Deal in the 1930s. She traveled with her mother and step father to the Matanuska Valley where the family was given 88 acres of wilderness, a team of horses, a registered milk cow, chickens, and other small farm animals. Mom was about seven years old. She remembers living in a canvas army tent for the first year and later watching her step father clear the land and build their home, chinking it all by hand. There were many stories from these adventures in Alaska that have been passed down to children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Weve all heard about the bear trapped down in the willows, the strange Mountain Man who came delivering Dall sheep meat to the family, the long, dark nights lit only by kerosene lamps, and the time mom found the newborn calf and carried her home to the barn. When she was twelve years old, she composed a poem which took first place in the Alaska Territorial Fair. In 1949, mother married Karl Hymas and moved to Roslyn, Washington. There, they raised their family of 4 children: Karla, Sharon, Joan, and John. were blessed to have a beautiful mother with so many talents. She could draw, compose poetry, and loved music. In 1958, Jane became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She was called to many positions including that of teacher, chorister, and temple worker. Her greatest love was genealogy and she spent many hours searching out family members. As a result of her diligence, she found her half brother, Ronald, living in Chicago when he was in his later years. became very close as they wrote and visited by telephone. Jane loved helping others and her chosen profession was that of nurses aide in s in both Cle Elum and Roslyn. She was also compassionate and gentle with the elderly and the sick. She later was employed by Central Washington University as a Food Service Worker. Jane was an inspiration and an example to all who knew her. She was generous and gracious and very beautiful. She taught by example and was faithful in all her dealings. She loved her family and the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Karl, her brother, Ron Trimble, and her sister, Barbara Edge. She is survived by her four children, Karla Rager of Coulee City, Sharon Maras (Leon) of Selah, Joan Hymas of Ellensburg, and John Hymas of Walla Walla; her grandchildren: Amber Maras, Karissa Maras Wilson (Tom), and Seth Maras: and seven great grandchildren: Spencer, Bryton, Jordyn, Camryn, Briar, Peyton, and Jaxon. Also surviving Jane are her siblings: Ladonia Anderson, Lenore Provan, Denise Ward, and Spencer Dean, as well as nieces and nephews. A Service will be at Steward & Williams Tribute ; 301 East Third Avenue, Ellensburg, WA 98926 on , 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at IOOF . |
