Obituary: Esther Hitchman, age 94, joined her Lord and Saviour on 9, 2014 in Richland, Washington. She was born on May 13, 1920, in Blair, Nebraska, to parents Chris and lola Wrich. She married Tier High School sweetheart, Robert Trimble Hitchman on 2, 1940 and they moved to Denver, Colorado. Their three children were born and raised in Colorado. Esther worked for Gates Rubber for over ten years, then the family moved to Mexico for a year. Upon leaving Mexico, they moved to Tucson, Arizona and resided there for over twenty years, where she worked as an administrative secretary for Flowing Wells School District until retirement. She was not one to sit still for very long, so she avidly worked on designing victoria boutique items, opened a business, then moved on to becoming a certified reflexologist. She delighted in making people feel better with her therapy. too many hot summers, Esther and Bob moved to the Tri- Cities and once again enjoyed four tolerable seasons. Esther and Bob began attending Community Bible Church and loved everything about it. Esther was very involved in all aspects of the church activities and her fellowship was a joy to her. She accepted the Lord in 1968, when her youngest son was fighting in the Vietnam War, and has remained a stalwart prayer warrior ever since. 56 years of marriage, Bob passed away, and Esther briefly moved to Phoenix, Arizona, then back to Tri-Cities. Mom will always be remembered as a sweet and gentle lady, never having a bad word to say about anyone or anything. She was the ultimate worker, who banned saying the word NO. She is survived by her loving family: son Steve (Suzi) Hitchman; daughter Cheryll (George) Weigand; sister Priscilla Kiefer; daughter-in-law Louise Hitchman; grandchildren, Curtis (Becky) Hitchman, Jennifer (Javier) Delgado, Pamela Ronstadt, Keith (Maryann) Hitchman, Melissa (Neil) Scott, Kristen Weigand (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Maya, Kira, Breckin and Shea Hitchman, Isabella and Dominic Delgado, Alec and McCoy Ronstadt, Sarah and Jesse Hitchman, Paul Weigand, Hannah, Abigail and Miriam Scott; great-great grandchild, Kinsleigh Weigand; many nieces and nephews. Esther is preceded in death by parents, Chris and lola Wrich; husband, Bob; sister, Georgia and son Alec. Many thanks to Richland Gardens, both staff and residents, especially Kathy, Mindy, and all of Moms many dear friends there. Also, thanks to The Chaplaincy, for comforting Esthers last days.
