Obituary: DOROTHY HAUENSTEIN (McClure) Dorothy Darlene Hauenstein graduated to heaven 15, 2015. Born in Spokane Dec. 5, 1930 to Clifford and Dorothy McClure, Dorothy lived nearly all of her adult life in Reardan, WA where she was loved by many for her volunteer spirit, tenderhearted compassion and friendship. With her husband, Lee they founded and operated Dottie-Lee Eggs, a small poultry farm on the east edge of town. From the back of a Chevrolet station wagon, she sold eggs to restaurants and grocery stores in Davenport, Harrington and Odessa. Later she served many years as the head cook for the Reardan-Edwall School District. Following her retirement, she was a tireless caregiver to Lee, who suffered a disabling stroke in 1993, and gave her time to many civic causes such as senior citizens and St. Michaels Parish in Reardan. Dorothy spent most of her childhood in Coulee Dam, where she graduated from high school. She attended Washington State (now WSU), where she met Lee. were married Dec. 28, 1949 and shortly thereafter moved to Lakebay, Washington before settling in Reardan in 1954. Dorothy faithfully coordinated activities for the Reardan Senior Citizens for many years. She supported the work of Habitat for Humanity, the Inland Empire Railway Historical Society, the Union Gospel Mission and many other causes and organizations. An organist and pianist who played by ear, she also collected prayer requests for St. Michaels Parish to share at weekly gatherings of church representatives at the fire house. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and brothers Clifford (Bill), Richard and Walter McClure. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Russell and Lori Hauenstein of Port Orchard; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Rebecca Hauenstein of Spokane; son Steven Hauenstein of Reardan; daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Brian McCall of Reardan; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and David Gable of Spokane; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will all miss her laughter and her love. The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 7 p.m. , 23rd at St. Michaels Parish, 455 Cottonwood St., in Reardan. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. the 24th at the Reardan United Methodist Church, 155 S.
