Obituary: Sharon Elaine Hutchinson of Crozet departed this life on 4, 2015. Born on 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Winfred (Winkie) and Frances Harris Hutchinson. Sharon is survived by her son Sean Weakley and his wife Asia of Crozet; her grandchildren Calin, Camrin, Jasmine, Mason and Gavin Weakley and Michael and Sydney Meadows; and her brothers Ron Hutchinson and his wife Marcia and Greg Hutchinson and his wife Joyce. Additional survivors include her nephew Chad Hutchinson and her nieces Melissa Wall and Douglas. Born and raised in Charlottesville, Sharon attended local public schools and was a 1965 graduate of Lane High School. During her career she was employed by a number of government agencies and retired in 2012 from the University of Virginia Law School as a faculty assistant. Sharon had a genuine zest for life. She enjoyed country music and karaoke and liked nothing better than having a good time with her many friends – a friend of Sharon was a friend for life. She will be remembered by her family and friends as an independent woman who worked hard all of her life and as a mother and grandmother who loved her son and grandkids with all of her generous heart. In the face of personal challenges and health adversities she always exhibited grace, strength and great courage. Rest in peace sweet “blooeyed gal”. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. , 7, 2015 at the Teague . A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Obituary: Sandra Marie (Reese) Hutchinson, 66, peacefully passed away in her sleep while at her home on 22 . a 3.5 year battle with breast cancer for a second time, her family is grateful that she is no longer experiencing pain and is now at peace. Sandy was born 11, 1949, in Vallejo, C.A., the second daughter of Irene F. and the late Jack V. Reese. receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management from Humboldt , she became an Army spouse and raised two daughters as they lived throughout the United States and abroad in Japan and Italy. For the past 20 years, Sandy was a dedicated civilian employee of the Marine Corps at Quantico. She loved gardening, swimming, shopping, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Sandy is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Hutchinson and Tracey Reed (C.W.); two grandchildren, Alexander and Abigail Reed; mother, Irene Reese; and sister, Virginia Avilla. Obituary: Mary Marie Hutchinson of Craig went to be with the Lord on , 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Garland Hutchinson; parents Raymond R. and Mary Ray; sister Phyllis Mayo. Obituary: Louise A. Hutchinson, 90, of Williamsburg, Virginia, a former reporter and Washington correspondent with the Chicago Tribune, died 29, 2017 in the Hospice Unit of Williamsburg Sentara Hospital of cancer. Ms. Hutchinson was with the Chicago Tribune for 22 years, eight of them in the newspapers Washington bureau. Among her assignments was coverage of eight national political conventions, the 1972 Nixon Moscow summit, and a trip to the Antarctic in 1971 when she became the first woman to spend the night at the South Pole. Ms. Hutchinson also traveled frequently with Mrs. Lyndon Johnson and Mrs. Richard Nixon. In 1970-1971 she was president of the Womens National Press Club which in 1971 merged with the National Press Club. In 1966 she won the Tribunes top staff award for reporting and in 1969 she won an Associated Press award for a story related to the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in the car of Senator Edward Kennedy at Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts. On leaving the Chicago Tribune in 1973, Ms. Hutchinson became a public information officer for the U.S. Department of Justices Civil Rights Division, then press secretary to the late Illinois Congressman Robert McClory. She later worked for several non-profit associations and retired in 1991 as director of member and public information for the National Association of Childrens Hospitals in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1969 she received an honorary doctorate of letters degree from Blackburn , Carlinville, Illinois, which she attended for two years before graduating from the University of Iowa. Born and raised in Chicago, Ms. Hutchinson lived in the Washington, D.C. area for 27 years before moving to Williamsburg in 1993 where she was active in Democratic politics and the League of Women Voters, and remained so until her death. There will be no services and cremation was handled by the Nelsen in Williamsburg. She is survived by her cousins and chosen family. An afternoon tea will be held in her honor on , 29 from 2 to 5 p.m at Powhatan Secondary Clubhouse Community , 201 Charter House Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Memorial donations may be made to the Williamsburg Regional Library or Williamsburg Hospice. |
