Obituary: J.D. Holton, 72, of Amherst, passed away , 24, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of Susan Karst Holton. Born 30, 1942 in Moultrie, GA, he was the son of the late DeWitt Talmadge and Claudie Holton. J.D. was a retired Foreman with Greif Brothers and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. He had three great loves in his life, his Lord, his family, and playing golf at his beloved Winton Country Club. In addition to his wife, J.D. is survived by three children, Michael J. Holton and wife Dee of Madison Heights, Missy H. Myers of Lynchburg, and Molly H. Eden and husband Paul of Forest; four grandchildren, Alyssa Holton, Casey Myers, Benjamin Eden, and Emily Eden and a brother, Ray Holton of Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of J.D.s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., , 27, 2015 at Sardis U.M. Church with the Rev. Shin Woo Hong officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., , 26, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Patrick Henry Boys & Girls Plantation or Sardis U.M. Church. Whitten s & Cremation Services, Monelison Chapel is serving the family. |
