Obituary: Rev. Donald Allen Hart, Sr., 69, of Monroe, passed away , 14, 2015 at the Medical of Virginia in Richmond. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Large Hart. Born 12, 1945 in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest Melchoir Hart and Olive Lorraine Plummer Hart and was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. In addition to being a minister and former Pastor, Rev. Hart was a retired brick mason. He was a member of Gracepointe Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hart is survived by six children, Alice (Lori) Hart of Baltimore, Lisa Tucker and husband Lamonte of Williamsburg, Donald Hart, Jr. of Baltimore, John Hart and wife Susanna of Atlanta, Stacie Taylor and husband Matt of Forest, and Joel Hart and wife Stephanie of Lynchburg; one step-son, Brent Bathon and wife Peggy of Vermont; one sister, Carol Kaydo and husband Bob of Ashtabula, OH; nineteen grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., , 18, 2015 at Gracepointe Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Greg Tyree officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Baptist Church . The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., , 17, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 South Amherst Highway, Madison Heights and other times at the residence. Obituary: Chester Marvin Hart, Sr., 88, a 52 year resident of Hampton, died , 16, 2010. Born in Gresham, Oregon and raised in Devils Lake, North Dakota, he was the son of Oscar and Sina Hart. He retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force while stationed at Langley Air Force Base after 20 years of service. Major Hart was stationed in Greenwood, Mississippi during WWII, where he trained pilots. While in Mississippi he met Mary Jane Hutchinson, who became his wife of 49 years. his Air Force retirement, he joined Ames Associates of Norfolk as an insurance agent. He later started his own business consulting firm, from which he retired in 1990. Major Hart enjoyed his years of membership in the Sertoma Club and the Langley Golf Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed any activity that included his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hutchinson Hart. He is survived by his sons, Chester M. Hart, Jr. and his wife, Sandy of Suffolk, VA and David A. Hart of Hampton; grandsons, Riggan Matthews Hart and Garland Bennett Hart both of Suffolk; brother, Leonard O. Hart and his wife, Lois of Eugene, OR; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who he visited often. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM , 18 at Parklawn-Wood . A Celebration of Major Harts life will be held , 19 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton.
