Obituary: Melissa Anne Haislip, 23, departed from us, suddenly, on 18, 2014. She is preceeded in death by her grandparents, George and Helen Haislip; and her two cousins, Matthew and Andrew Haislip. Melissa was a good hearted, young woman who loved to spend time with her family, going to the beach, and tubing. She was particularly proud of her academic achievements. Melissa graduated from Longwood University with her BSN in nursing and began her career at St. Marys Hospital. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and attended Antioch Baptist Church, early in life, and later, New Bridge Baptist Church. Melissa leaves to cherish her wonderful memory her parents, Michael and Vanessa Haislip; brother and best friend, Jason Haislip and his fiancé, Traci Freeman; the love of her life, Pixie; grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Moore; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts. Visitation will take place on , 22, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., with funeral services on , 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelsen , 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA, 23231.
