Obituary: Dr. Sid Henderson 1925-2011 Sidney Benson Henderson, age 85, passed away on 18, 2011 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was born 25, 1925 to Louis Edgar William Henderson and Anna Eugenia Benson Henderson in Downey, Idaho, the seventh of eight children. In his early life he lived in the small community of Arimo, Idaho. His family moved to Pocatello, Idaho, during the Depression in 1933 where he met and fell in love with DonaLe Cotant on his first day of school in the third grade. He attended schools in Pocatello until the beginning of his senior year of high school when he dropped out of school to join the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He served nearly three years as a Fireman-Watertender and Oiler making five voyages in the engine room of ships loaded with munitions or gasoline to battles in the Pacific and the Middle East. Between voyages he married DonaLe Cotant on 18, 1945. Twice he was awarded the Merchant Marine Combat Bar. the war, on the return voyage from Japan, he was miraculously rescued after his ship broke in half in a violent storm in the icy waters of the Great Circle Route near the Aleutian Islands. World War II he was allowed to attend Idaho State on probation without a high school diploma. He became an honor student and then transferred to the University of Washington where he graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1954. He then joined the U.S. Navy Dental Corp and was attached to the U.S. Marine Corp where he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. He practiced dentistry in Santa Rosa, California for 28 years. He loved the people of Santa Rosa and had a special feeling for the Italian Catholic Community. He served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a counselor in the Stake Presidency, Stake President, Regional Representative of the Twelve, Mission President in West Virginia, and twice as a Bishop. He and DonaLe served a proselyting mission in Granada, Spain. He was a Sealer in the Oakland California and Mt. Timpanogos Utah Temples. He served as president of the Sonoma-Mendocino California Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award. He regarded as the greatest accomplishment of his life, his celestial marriage to his beloved DonaLe and the noble family they raised. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, DonaLe and their seven children: Sidney R. (Joyce) Henderson, Dora Louise (Richard) Hunter, Dean (Pam) Henderson, David (Stacy) Henderson, Thadeus (Maria) Baldwin, Carl (Kirsten) Henderson, and Jeffrey (Cindy) Henderson. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. His brothers, Ralph Henderson, Boyd Henderson, and his sisters, Ann Atkinson and Joyce Sainsbury also survive him. His parents, his brothers, Louis Henderson and Dean Henderson and his sister Helen Passey preceded him in death. We, his children, pay special tribute to our mother for the selfless, happy way she cared for Dad. We also wish to thank the kind and professional caregivers of Hospice. services will be held 22, 2011 at 12 noon at the Cascade 5th Ward on 1060 East 200 North, Orem Utah. Friends may call evening 21 from 6-8 pm at the Walker Sanderson , 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, and from 10:30 – 11:30 am prior to the funeral service at the Cascade 5th Ward building. Following the service, interment will take place in the East Lawn in Provo, Utah, with full military honors. |

Obituary: Our loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on 27, 2007 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She was born 3, 1980 in Payson, Utah to J. Lane and Leslie Money Henderson. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1999 and attended Snow and UVSC. Nicole loved to sing and especially enjoyed riding horses in the mountains. She worked at the family business, J-Mart, and loved working on the Jorgensen Farm. She had a deep appreciation for the beauties of nature. Nicole was extremely loving and cared deeply about others. She always tried to help others and serve them in any way that she could. She loved her family and added enthusiasm and fun whenever they were together. Nicole was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her parents, Lane and Leslie Henderson; three sisters, Melissa (Adam) Gurr; Amberly; and Kimberly; a brother, Travis; and her niece, Elliana. Nicole is also survived by her grandparents, Eldon A. and Sharlene Money; and Maureen Henderson; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, J.C. Henderson. The Henderson family expresses heartfelt thanks to the Jorgensen family for their loving care, guidance, and love shown to Nicole. services will be held on , 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem West Stake , 695 South 300 West, in Salem. Obituary: Frances Luana Gowans Henderson, 94, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away 21, 2016. She was born May 4, 1921 to George H Gowans and Frances Ruth Shields Gowans in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a child she loved to dance. She grew up in Salt Lake City where she graduated from East High School and then worked for First Security Bank. She lived in Salt Lake most of her life. She married Garn S. Henderson on 30, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away May 31, 1986. When her children were born, she became a stay-at-home mom for a number of years. She then started to work for Beehive Travel and continued there for about 30 years. She was a travel agent and traveled all over the world. Luana retired at 72 years of age. Luana was very active in her church. She served in many positions throughout her life in Young Womens, Relief Society, visiting teacher and Ward missionary and Member Locater Services. She wrote many award winning roadshows. She loved her roses and had a very large garden of them. Luana is survived by her children Cheryl H Foulks (Otto-deceased) of Salt Lake, Kymm H McDaniel (Bob) of Arizona, Thomas G Henderson (Virginia) of Hawaii, sister Colleen Dickson (Ramon) of South Jordan, grandchildren Craig Zimmerman (Carol), Heather Lyman, Amber Park (Russ), Daniel Foulks (Jessica), Amy Foulks (Gilbert Martinez), great grandchildren Alyssa, Dustin, Austin, Kaily, Lily, Ayden, Braelee, Whitney, Preston, Jake, Addison, Bridger and Sophie. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son Brad, son-in-law Otto, and grandson Otto. An informal service will be held , 26, 2016, 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends and family may visit evening from 7-8 p.m., and morning one hour prior to services.
