Obituary: Our loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away due to a stroke, on 28, 2006 in Provo, Utah. He was born 15, 1953 in Provo to Russell Herman and Edna Ramona Rainwater Hansen. He graduated from Orem High School in 1971 and attended BYU, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Recreation Education. Mark married Satu Helena Kariniemi on May 28, 1975 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He enjoyed his family, fishing, camping, reading, BYU football, gardening, and painting. He loved coaching the SF high school track team from 1996-2005. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mark served in Scouting, the School, a Bishopric, and as a home teacher. Mark is survived by his wife, Satu; his children, Kirsti; Ossian (Sarah); Seth (Angela); P„ivi (Jeremy); Suvi; and Kai; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Kevin, Abraham, Elijah, Liberty, and Joseph-Mark. He is also survived by his mother, Ramona, and siblings, Grant, Tom, James, Alan, Pennie, and Gayle. He was preceded in death by his father. services will be held on , 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem 2nd Ward Chapel, 60 S. Main Street, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may call from 9:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Salem City . |

Obituary: Lydia Anne Hansen of Salt Lake City passed away peacefully in her sleep on 11th, 2016 at the age of 72. She was born on 14th, 1943 to Arlie Earl and Velma Lewis Smith in Columbus, Georgia. Lydia graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, AL in 1961 where she was a majorette and a member of the school's marching band. She married David L. Hansen on 3rd, 1966 and moved to Utah where they had two children together. later divorced. Lydia worked for the telephone company for over 30 years, retiring from U.S. West Communications in 2002. She spent her retired years enjoying traveling to Georgia to visit her family and friends, cooking big meals for her family, crafting, gardening, and taking care of her cats. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her two children and making sure they knew they were loved. Lydia was such a loving and giving person who tried to help others as much as she could. She leaves behind many fond memories with those who knew her that will be cherished for many years to come. Lydia is survived by her two children: Cindy Hansen and Cory Hansen. She is also survived by her sister, Sara Gilbert (Bob), step son, Kevin Hansen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother, Robert Smith, and a sister, Gail Perry. Services will be held , 17th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City with a viewing from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Parkhill in Columbus, Georgia. Obituary: With the sun shining brightly, a gentle breeze carrying the sweet Maui air and his beloved wife, Barbara at his side - Lloyd Hansen felt the warm embrace of our Heavenly Father, joining his beautiful daughter, Karen, and his dear mother and father. He was born 28, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Christella and Grover A. Hansen. He was called to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Stockholm, Sweden Mission. He served for 30 months, and arrived home on Christmas Day, 1952. In 1956 Lloyd graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree. He also attained a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force Reserve. In 1956 while attending a basketball game at South High School he caught sight of a beautiful blonde cheerleader and said, Im going to marry that girl! True to his word, Lloyd married Barbara Dawn Ellertson in the Salt Lake City Temple on 7, 1956. Lloyd was an incredible entrepreneur. He founded A-1 Quality Glass. Through many years of dedicated hard work the company expanded into 4 states with 28 locations. It was the largest independently owned auto glass company in the United States. He also founded National Auto Plaza in 1996. Lloyd was active with the Olympic Bid effort, hosting the International Olympic Committee at his cabin in the mountains. He travelled the world extensively with family, friends and business associates to six continents and dozens of countries. He particularly enjoyed travelling to Europe, with Germany and Switzerland his favorites. His favorite place on earth was at his cabin. He called it, Gods Country. It was there that he created treasured memories for families and friends. However you measure success - Lloyd achieved it - whether in business, family or friendships. Lloyd lived life to its fullest, making sure those around him did also. This great family man was generous with everything he had and will be missed greatly. Lloyd is survived by his sweetheart Barbara, children, Kathryn(Bradley) Reynolds, Kristy(Robert) Davis, Kimberly(Michael) Spiecha, Kory(Jami) Hansen, Kolby(Jennifer) Hansen, and twelve grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter Karen Penrose, sisters Carma Bennion and Nellie VanLeeuwen, and parents. There will be a viewing between 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary - 3401 South Highland Drive. services will be held 18th at 12 Noon at the Heughs Canyon Ward, 6313 South 2300 East. Prior to the services a viewing will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City . under the direction of Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, Salt Lake City, UT. |
