Obituary: Melvin Earl Hale 1933 ~ 2015 Melvin Earl Hale passed away , 16th in Salt Lake City Utah He was born 25th 1933 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Hillis H. Hale and Gertrude Mashburn. He married JoAnn Barnett on 15 1954 in Ogden Utah Melvin was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints He grew up in Oklahoma and California. Joined the Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. the Air Force he worked as a Tile Setter until being employed at Hill Air Force Base in the electroplating shop. He retired as a landing gear inspector after 23 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn B. Hale and a son Cory Hale. He leaves behind seven grand children and sixteen great grand children who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ann Harris, and his son Melvin Rand Hale; his brothers Johnny, Earnest and Charles Hale. The family will receive friends on , 21st from 6-8 pm and 22nd from 12-1:00 pm. at the Valley View 4335 W. 4100 So. in West Valley Services will be held , 22nd at 1:00 pm, also at the Valley View . Obituary: Gussie Katrina Barksdale Hale, 89, was granted her angel wings 4, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and the wonderful caregivers at Carrington Court Alzheimer care. Gussie was born 24, 1924 in Elberton, Georgia to John and Lessie Barksdale. Her father was a railroad conductor during the great depression; her mother was a homemaker and a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. Gussie was a deeply spiritual woman with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She had been a member of the Holladay Baptist Church (Risen Life Church) since 1960, teaching school and vacation bible school, and she was a lead soprano in the church choir. Her passion was for gardening, especially her roses, and she devoted her life to supporting her family. She is survived by her sister, Christine Neal, daughter Susan Hale Zeluff, son and spouse Scott and Debbie Hale, 2 grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Colemere and Cameron (Colette) Sprinkel, along with 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wanna Hale, 2 sisters and a brother. A special thanks to all the staff at Carrington Court for the amazing care and attention they gave Mom. We would also like to thank the Millcreek Hospice staff for the wonderful end of life care; you are all amazing. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on 12, 2014 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Obituary: G. Ray Hale, a man who loved his country, passed away on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. Ray was born 2, 1930 at his family home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Otelia B. and Archie Q. Hale, sisters Clarene Wilson and MaRee Guyton and brothers Nathan Hale and Myron Hale. Ray is survived by his wife Linda Hale, brothers Ralph (Deon) Hale, and David (Marica) Hale, children Brad (Shanna) Hale, Debbie (Ed) Axtell, Stephanie Pendergast, Kimberly Hale, Leslie (Blaine) Chambers, Jed Hale and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray graduated from West High School in 1948 and the University of Utah in 1952 with a degree in teaching and communications. graduating from the U, Ray owned and operated Action Distribution and simultaneously pursued a career as an NCAA football, basketball and baseball official. One of Ray's greatest passions was giving back to his alma mater, West High School. In 1954 he and his four brothers established the "Hale Award", a scholarship given to outstanding male and female student athletes. This scholarship continues to be given today. Ray served on the West High Alumni Association for several decades and was often found at West High athletic events cheering on his Panthers. In 2010 Ray was honored by having his name placed on the school fieldhouse. Ray coined the term "Once a Panther, Always a Panther." A viewing will be held on , 2, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Obituary: Beloved father and husband, Frederick Charles Hale, passed away 31, 2014 after a heroic 22 year battle with Interstitial Lung disease resulting from medical malpractice. Born 12, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to William Elwell Hale and Constance Mabel Goodell and reared by his maternal grandmother Crystal Eichelberger in Boise, Idaho.
