Obituary: WILHELMINA M HOLCOMB Known to all as Mina, 90 years of age born 12,1926, passed away on 12, 2017. She was a resident of Inland Valley and Rehab in Pomona, for the last years of her life. She was previously a long time resident of Ontario, where she had many friends and church family. She loved to play the piano and organ, and enjoyed time spent with family on holidays and eating all the wonderful food.. Purple was her favorite color. In her early life she worked at Rexall Drugs in Monterey Park where she grew up as a child., later in life she gave many piano lessons. She was a member of The LDS Church, she loved the LORD and was very strong in her faith. Survivors include her sister Gloria, nephew Joe and his wife Belinda, of Bend OR. Niece Suzanne and her husband Ron, of Midland City, AL with many grand & great-grand nieces and nephews. Mina was preceded in death by her two husbands and only child Alan L. Chappell. Services were held in her honor on 19,2017 at the Church of LDS in Ontario with Bishop Freeman presiding. In lieu of flowers please give donations in her honor to The LDS Mountain View Ward Ontario, CA under the direction of Stone FD272, Upland, CA. |

Obituary: Wanda Louise (Chalakee) Holcomb was born on 8th, 1939 in Okmulgee, OK; wife of 54 years to her surviving husband, Johnny Holcomb and mother to two sons, Larry Allen Holcomb and Kevin Mark Holcomb. graduating from Wilson High School in Henryetta, she furthered her education at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas, graduating in 1961 with a Commercial Degree. She followed the Sun west and traveled to Los Angeles. There, she met and married fellow Oklahoman, Johnny Holcomb in 1961. Together, they made Southern California their home for the next 54 years. Wanda was proud member of the Creek Nation. Wanda dedicated her life to being a caring wife and devoted mother. Wanda passed away peacefully on her terms, 26th, 2015 after a heroic three year battle with cancer. Wanda is preceded in passing by her parents, Wilson and Mahala Chalakee, her brother, Woodrow and sister, Nancy and Rita. Wanda is survived by her husband, her sisters, Betsy Harjo and Linda Thornburg, her brothers, Johnny Chalakee, Robert Chalakee and Jimsey Chalakee, as well as numerous other family and friends. |
