Obituary: William Frederick Buddy Hinton danced his way into heaven on , 8th 2014 at 7: 30p.m. in Mission Viejo, California. He had lived nearby his niece Iva and husband Art Green in California after suffering some health issues in 2011. William was born in Jefferson in the city of Birmingham, Alabama on 30th, 1919 to the late William B. and Beatrice Burnett Hinton. He graduated from Fairfield Industrial High School in Alabama and migrated to West Virginia along with his father after the loss of his mother earlier. Both took jobs in the coal mining industry as a means of support. He served in the US Army overseas in Europe from 1943 until an Honorable Discharge in 1945. William took a Job at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1954 where he advanced from an Apprentice Welder to a Journeyman Welder. He retired from the shipyard in 1985 with over 31 years of Federal Civil Service. He relocated to Beckley, WV after the death of his first wife Norma Capel Hinton 1994. On a subsequent visit to California in the mid-90s he met Clemmie Alexander who would become his second wife after a brief courtship. It was at this point that William became an avid line dancer along with Country Western Dancing. Although this marriage lasted but a short time they remained good friends. William was a long standing member of the Line Dancing group that met at the Raleigh Senior where he visited almost daily. William is predeceased by two Sisters Juanita Drake and Lila Hairston; Brother Alfonso and nephew Andrew (Sandra) Hairston. He is remembered also by brothers Alfred and Marvin; one sister Trina and Aunt Cleo Hinton. Remindful are three nephews, Robert (Willa Mae) Hairston, James (Veronica) Hairston and William (Francetta) Hairston. Included also are nieces Iva (Arthur) Green, Linda (Robert) Green and Angela Drake. Too numerous to mention are other great, grand nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. |

Obituary: HINTON Phyllis Eleanor Hinton, age 91, was born on 8, 1925 and passed away on 24, 2016 at Inspirations in Corona, CA. She was placed under the care of Inland Valley Hospice on 29, 2016 following, a severe decline in her overall health. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Hinton (the love of her life) and the daughter of the late Walter R. Chambers, Sr. & Martha Notestone Chambers. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary Finley and Alma Finley and brother Richard Chambers, nephews Edward Finley and Rick Finley, nieces Patricia Finley and Linda Kay Finley, and sister-in-law Sue Hartley Chambers. She is survived by her daughter Cindy Young (Terry Leffler), granddaughters Kimberly Hall (Brian Wadsworth) and Michelle Sherwood (Steven) and seven great grandchildren: Travis, Caitlyn Eleanor, Charlize Charlie, Wyatt, Sloan & Sutton Grace. She is also survived by her brother Walter. R. Chambers (Candace) of Pataskala, OH, nephews Jim Chambers & Mark Chambers (Tracy), nieces Nickie Carlson (Russ) & Debra Murphy (Frank). In addition, she has several great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous good friends. Especially close to her were Kathy Knutson and Nick Hollis. were friends for over thirty years and enjoyed many good times together. In later years, Phyl looked forward to Kathys visits and loved the beautiful seasonal flowers that she always brought. Phyllis grew up on a farm in Tarlton, OH and was one of five children. She graduated from Stoutsville H.S. in 1943 and moved to Columbus, OH where she worked as a secretary for the Curtiss-Wright Corporation. In 1948 she met her soul-mate, Charles Hinton. were married on 25, 1949. Their life together was built on a Christian foundation, full of fun, friends, and family. were members of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Bexley, OH, where Phyllis helped with Vacation Bible School. adored their only child, daughter Cindy and were always involved in many school activities, as members of the Mifflin H.S. Booster Club. also adored granddaughters Kimberly and Michelle, to the point of relocating to Southern California, to be near them..following Cindy and her familys move from Ohio to California in 1978. drove their 1970 corvette convertible cross country, traveling route 66 and arriving in CA on 25, 1981, their 32 wedding anniversary. made their new home in Corona, CA and became active members of the local Corvette Club. enjoyed participating in road rallies and car shows, earning many trophies for their mean green machine. Phyllis became active in their community HOA and served as Board President for several terms. the death her husband Charlie in 1995, Phyllis volunteered her time at Corona Regional Medical from 1996 until 2006. She attended Crossroads Christian Church until 2007, when she suffered a debilitating stroke and was no longer able to live alone. She always took great pride in her home and independence and was devastated that she could not return to her beautiful condo. However, following a period of adjustment, she accepted her new home at Inspirations with a determination to make the best of life. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Over the years, she had many wonderful caregivers. However, one stands out among them all, Lidia Borges. She always went the extra mile and had the ability to understand Phyllis needs and desires, even when the words were lacking or unclear. Lidia called her Miss California, for Phyllis never lost her desire to dress beautifully, apply make-up, and style her hair. She was a true lady of class. She had an especially close and wonderful relationship with her daughter. always enjoyed their time together, whether they were watching an Ohio State University football game on TV or running errands together. Phyllis is truly going to be missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00AM on Sat. 28, 2017, in the chapel at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 11500 Arlington Ave. Riverside, CA. Following the service, friends and family are invited to a reception/luncheon at Hidden Valley Golf Club at 10 Valley Dr. Norco, CA. A private interment, for the placement of ashes in the HINTON family bench will be scheduled at a later date at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Inspirations for their many years of outstanding personal care and to Dr. Robert Nelson and his medical staff at Citrus Valley Medical for the wonderful individualized care and attention Phyllis received during the last nine years. In addition, we would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Inland Valley Hospice for all of their services during the final two months of Phyllis life. Especially supportive were: Nurses Jennifer and Vince, personal aide Maria, and Pastor Jon. Each of these groups will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
