Obituary: Amigos, seres queridos, y familia.
Es un honor y un privilegio para mí rendir homenaje a una persona muy especial, mi único hermano, Gabriel. Para los que no lo saben, mis padres tuvieron cuatro hijos. Mi hermana, Tere, la simpática; Mi hermano Gabriel, el más gracioso; Nancy, la bebé y yo: la mayor. Estoy aquí hoy para compartir pensamientos sobre mi hermano Gabriel. Queríamos recordar la persona que el era y celebrar su vida. Queremos que todos sepan que pensamos que Gabriel era un hermano excepcional.

Mi hermano era una persona especial. Aquellos de ustedes que lo conocían bien, sabían que era increíblemente gracioso. Uno también sabe que nunca fue fácil ser Gabriel. Cuando Gabriel tenía 10 años, sufrió su enfermedad de riñon y empezo dialisis. Despues de 2 anos, tubo su primer trasplante de riñón, que fue donado por nuestro padre Don Juan. Recuerdo que asustado estaba antes de la cirugia. Permaneció en el hospital por algún tiempo, faltando a la escuela.

Gabriel era un consuelo para nuestros padres. El era más feliz cuando estaba rodeado de su familia. Si necesitabas desahogarte de tus problemas, o pasar el tiempo, él era tu hombre.
Se juntaba con sus primos y pasaban el tiempo juntos. Salian a las fiestas, conciertos y una vez se llevaron el coche de mi marido mientras estaba en Japón. Me di cuenta de que el techo solar estaba rajado, así que le pregunté qué pasó y él solo se rió y dijo "Dude, it was crazy!"........La cosa mas graciosa de Gabriel, es que el no debia manejar el coche porque no podia ver. No sé cómo se las arregló para manejar mi coche. Sé que todos tenemos grandes recuerdos de las veces que nos hizo reír, creo que estas son las mejores cosas para recordar de él.

Se graduó de H.S y se matriculó en el colegio comunitario por algunos años, pero nunca terminó porque empezó a sentirse enfermo.
Pasaron 16 años y su riñón le falló. Estaba en diálisis durante 10 años, 3 veces a la semana de 3-4 horas al día.
Cuando uno sufre de enfermedad renal en el nivel que Gabriel tenia, la vida puede ser muy dolorosa. Mirando hacia atrás en la vida de Gabriel, su enfermedad realmente se apoderó de él a través de los años. Yo describiría la enfermedad de Gabriel como una tormenta. Su enfermedad también trajo otras complicaciones. Pasó períodos cuando era demasiado para él, y períodos en los que casi no dijo nada.

Creo que Gabriel era más feliz cuando era un niño. Se reía y bromeaba mucho. Le encantaba estar afuera, jugando con sus camiones tonka. Era travieso. Recuerdo el día en que le pegó los ojos cerrados con crazy glue a mi hermana Tere, y más tarde ese mismo día, él le echo cemento dentro del tanque de la cortadora de pasto. Mirando hacia atrás, de esos buenos recuerdos, simplemente sonrío. Tenía un sentido de humor. Él también tenía una carcajada tan fuerte que se podía oír esa risa por toda la casa. Aparte de la risa, le gustaba sentarse en la mesa de la cocina y tomar café, o simplemente divertirse con alguien que estuviera a su alrededor.

Cuando miro las caras de la jente aqui, veo a muchos miembros de la familia y amigos. Yo sé que ustedes también extrañaran la amistad que Gabriel les trajo a sus vidas. Estoy segura de que todos lo recordarán de su propia manera especial.
Hay personas muy especiales en este lugar y en la vida de Gabriel. Quiero reconocer a todas las personas que hicieron lo mejor con Gabriel, aunque no siempre fue fácil. Muchos de ustedes eran amables y compasivos. Los amigos y la familia lo ayudaron a ponerse de pie, hablaron con él, lo escucharon cuando lo necesitaba, y realmente actuaron por amor y compasión una y otra vez. A todos los que amaron a Gabriel y hicieron lo mejor por él - gracias.

Y hay algo más que necesito decir. Alguien a quien debo agradecer. Quiero agradecer a mi Mama Teresa por todo lo que hizo por su hijo. Como madre yo misma, sé que no hay un montón de medallas que se reparten, pero hay muchos que se merecen. No creo que hay una razón en el mundo que mi madre hubiera estado preparada para criar a un niño como Gabriel. Ella tenía una manera tan gentil con Gabriel. Cuando estaba de mal humor, mama no se daba por vencer y trataba de ayudarlo. Era dulce y amable y aseguraba que Gabriel se sintiera deseado, aunque Gabriel estaba cansado de sus enfermedades. La mejor manera de describirlo es que ella lo trató con un especie de amor que me siento orgullosa de haber visto.

Tal vez no hay medallas para una mamá, pero debería haberlo. Por lo tanto, te doy una medalla de honor hoy, un corazón de oro, por ser madre de Gabriel y hacerlo con una gracia y un amor tan extraordinario.
En los momentos bajos, me he sentido triste por Gabriel ... triste por el dolor que sufrió; Triste que no pudo aplicar libremente sus talentos naturales a causa de las cargas que su enfermedad le ponía. Pero creo que he sido injusta al juzgar su vida de esa manera. Es injusto porque no le he dado crédito por lo que el logro a pesar de todo, pero siguió peleando esa batalla toda su vida. Eso tomó una increíble cantidad de valentía.

Hoy el sol no brilla sobre nosotros, pero siempre brillará sobre ti. Te imaginamos con un rostro sonriente, ya no con dolor ni sufrimiento. Podemos tener consuelo en saber que Tu estás en el cielo del paraiso, y un día nos veremos.
Gabriel, nuestro hermano, es muy difícil decir adiós, así que nos decimos Hasta la Proxima. Las páginas de tu libro nunca serán cerradas, siempre permanecerán en nuestros corazones. Gabriel, te vamos a continued...

Obituary: Juan Hernandez Jr. was born 11, 1979 in Los Angeles CA. At the age of 3 he became big brother to Sister Marlene. Growing up, Junior played many sports football, baseball and basketball. He grew up in LA and during his school years he continued to play sports. His favorite hobby was skateboarding with his cousins. He also enjoyed riding around with his dad while he drove trucks for a living. In 1992 the family moved to Oceanside from LA, Junior was 12 years old. During this time he loved working on the famous Cadillac with his dad. Playing catch with his dad was something he really enjoyed, one time he threw the baseball and hit his dad in the eye he didn know he wasn looking. He went crying to his mom about how bad he felt. Junior was always so caring and lovable person just a sweetheart to everyone. In 1994 his younger brother Anthony was born. Everyone called him Juniors twin, since they looked so much alike. Throughout the years they grew to be very close even closer when their niece Ruby was born in 2006. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. Junior had a big heart always going out of his way to help those in need, specially his cousin Danny which he loved very much. Junior always enjoyed a good basketball game with his brother Anthony, brother n law Javi and of course dad, Junior was Shaq on the court you couldn get by him! He loved to spoil his mommy, cooking dinner every night and keeping the house clean, there was nothing he wouldn do for her or his niece Ruby. When it came to family parties he was the first one to volunteer at the grill. He will be missed by those he encountered in his lifetime. He may be gone but never forgotten, you will always remain in our hearts for ever. Junior how did you know the Raiders were going to beat the Chargers on 10/10/10?? We all Love you and miss you soooooooo much... RIP

Juan Jose Hernandez Jr. Our beloved Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and friend has passed away on 10/10/2010 in Oceanside CA at the age of 31. Junior was born in Los Angeles CA on 01/11/1979 to the proud parents of Juan Jose Sr. and Maria Alberta. He is survived by his two siblings Marlene and Anthony and his adorable niece Ruby. Junior was a very loving, caring, energetic, responsible, and respectful young man who dedicated his time and love to his family. Junior also loved everything about life no matter how it came to him and enjoyed every minute of it. When growing up Junior played baseball and liked skating, but most of all he liked playing tricks on his friends and joke around. Once he was older Junior displayed the gift of being a great chef and being the best host ever. He made everyone feel welcomed any time they would stop by his house. Any person who had the pleasure of meeting Junior, left his presence of knowing that they had made a new true friend. It is with great sorrow to announce the departure of our Gentle Giant for we have lost the heart of our family. Junior will be missed tremendously and will live forever in our hearts and thoughts...
