Obituary: Charles Henry Charlie Husers was born 9, 1917 in Edgerly, Louisiana. He was fostered by Lynn and Betty Mitchel of Sulphur, Louisiana. He passed away 1, 2011 in Webster, Texas. Charles was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army - First Infantry Division The Big Red One. He proudly served from 1939-1945. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 291, VFW Post 8566 and the Electrical Union 527. His greatest pleasures were sitting on the gallery, smoking his pipe and telling stories of Army life and family events in the old days. Family and friends have described Charlie as being a fun loving, gentle man and he was an avid Baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Delphia Husers and his second wife of 10 years, Faye Husers and his brothers Albert, Lloyd, and Robert. Survivors include his daughter, Charlene Kaznowski and her children, Jeremy and Justin Kaznowski; daughter and her husband, Rebekah and Roger Wells and her children, Kenneth and Marcus Hillman and his only granddaughter, Jennifer Rocha; stepdaughter and her husband, Suzanne and John Paul Machala; sister, Thelma McClelland; great grandchildren, Nicholas Hillman, Jacob Hillman, Chloe Hillman, Cayden Kaznowski and Matthew Rocha. As quoted by a close friend, Another soldier gone home. Visitation will be from 6-8pm, , 5, 2011 at Forest Park East . Obituary: under the direction FORT WORTH -- Dorothy Nell Shepperd Huseman, 88, died 10, 2010. Service: at 1 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Chapel with interment to follow at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. There will be an open visitation on from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Born on 28, 1922 in Mexia, Texas, Dorothy Nell grew up in nearby Corsicana. She exhibited a talent for art at an early age. passing up a grade, Dorothy Nell graduated from Corsicana High School in 1938 with her older sister Iris. In 1940 Dorothy Nell began working at Sears in Houston, where she learned window trimming. Impressed by the artistic and calligraphic skills exhibited on letters from overseas written by a co-worker’s brother in the U.S. Army, Dorothy Nell began writing to artist/calligrapher, Sgt. Floyd Huseman, who was stationed at Trinidad in the British West Indies. Dorothy Nell then worked in the display department at Foleys where she continued to correspond with Floyd for two years before they finally met. married on 22, 1944. the war, they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, where she was active at the newly formed Fairview Baptist Church. Dot worked as a free-lance display designer for Sanger Bros. in Dallas before she and Floyd moved to Longview, Texas. There she was an active charter member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. Their only child, Ben, was born in Longview. In 1963 the family moved back to the DFW area, where they became active members at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. In 1972 Dot went to work at the Tarrant Junior Northeast Campus bookstore, where she became head cashier and did the window displays for eighteen years. For much of her life Dot was a smart and elegant dresser, sewing many of her clothes. She maintained a sweet and loving disposition to all with whom she came in contact. Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Floyd, and sister Iris Cowan. She is survived by son Ben, daughter-in-law Leigh, grandchildren Erik and Diane, of Carrollton, Texas; and sister, Audrey Foster, of Farmers Branch. The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at Lakewood Village in Fort Worth and Sandy Lake of Coppell.
