Alma was born on 29, 1926 in Atoka, OK the daughter of Benjamin and Nova (Brown) Wylie. She married Albert Donald Hughes on 14, 1942 in Durant, OK. Alma worked for Texas Instruments as an engineering technician. In her retirement years she enjoyed driving her Winnebago and traveling. A large part of her life was her church, Hyde Park Baptist Church, which she was a member for many years. Alma loved to crochet, was a wonderful cook who is well known for her big holiday meals and her desserts. She loved spending time with grandchildren and her dogs. Alma is lovingly remembered by her son, Wylie and wife Debra Hughes of Denison; daughter, Frances Pangle of Garland; grandchildren, Reggie Bassett, Nova Pangle, John Pangle and Dosky Allard, Tammy Mitchell and fiancé Kenny Broughton and Holly and husband Brian High; great grandchildren, O.T. Mitchell, John D. Pangle, Joshua Pangle, Brittany Pangle, Logan High and Lawson High. Obituary: NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Alfred Claude Hughes, 86, passed away , Nov. 29, 2010. Service: 9:30 a.m. at Moore . Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National . Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials: a hospice of choice, in lieu of flowers. Claude was born the first child of Claude Bertram and Adelia Adeline Davis Hughes on 11, 1924, in Moore, Okla. He lived through the Oklahoma dust storms, grasshopper and cricket plagues, the Great Depression and World War II. It was during World War II that he was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart along with the Bronze Star. In 1943 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ellen Powers. In 1946, he was hired by Graybar Electric Co. and continued to work there until his retirement in 1977. He was branch manager of its Oklahoma City and Colorado Springs offices. his retirement, he lived in Buena Vista, Colo.; Casa Grande, Ariz.; and Keller and North Richland Hills. God has you in His arms; we have you in our hearts. Preceding him in death were his parents and twin great-grandsons, Dax and Dalton. Survivors: His loving wife of 67 years, Mary Ellen; daughters, Claudia Davis and husband, Don, and Pam Cartwright and husband, Roger; grandchildren; Jacob Tindall and wife, Cindy, Amy Lynne Weathers and husband, Robert, Wade Cartwright and partner, Blake Burba, Randy Davis, Chris Davis, Donna Gingras and husband, Phil, and Susan Davis. Obituary: Adella Hughes, 91, departed this life on 15, 2015 to rejoin William Hughes, her husband of 55 years, and their beloved son Billy. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Surovec as well as siblings, Paul, Emil, Rose, and Mary. Adella was an employee of the Rath Packing for almost 30 years and a devoted member of St. Christophers Church for 36 years. She had been involved in several organizations including the Polka Club, SPJST Hall, Friendship Club, Time Out Club, and Dignity LIFT Program. She also loved to tend to her garden and enjoyed baking delicious strudels which were sought after every year by friends and family. Left behind to cherish her memory include her sister, Hattie Siegel, sister-in-law, Eileen Surovec, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends including one very special friend, Rose Mitchell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Legend Oaks for providing such compassionate care during Adellas last days especially Jesika Rucker, Billie Alfred, and Angela Cox. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on , 19, from 5-9 with a rosary led by Sister Zachary. Service and Burial will take place on , 20, at St. Christopher Catholic Church celebrated by Father Paul and Father Jessie at 10:00am with a procession to the graveside following the church service. Serving as pallbearers will be Emil Surovec, Mike Paige, Rick Sims, Steve Callaway, Steven Callaway, and Bryan Callaway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Adellas honor to Harbor House Hospice of Baytown. |

Ollie Hughbank was born in San Diego, California, on 16, 1921, to Lena and Jesse Reasor. She married Robert James Hughbank on 5, 1941. She was married 51 years before the passing of her husband, retired Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Robert J. Hughbank. Ollie kept the family together while her husband fought in World War II and Korea. She was the quintessential Marine wife and mother who managed the family through two wars and several moves as Sgt. Maj. Hughbank was transferred to several duty stations in different states. Ollie held several jobs of her own and was a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none. Ollie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Hughbank; parents; two brothers; one sister; and granddaughter, Vicky Lee Munke.
