Obituary: Dr. William Morris House died on , 9, 2014 at his home in Bryan. He was born on 17, 1917 on the family farm in Leon , Texas. He was the fifth of six children born to John Arthur House and Francis America (Reed) House. He attended Sam Houston University and became a Methodist minister, serving the church as a pastor for 50 years. He loved the United Methodist Church and the congregations he served. He continued to serve in retirement until his death, preaching his last sermon at the age of 96. During his ministry, he served as District Superintendent for two 6-year terms-in the Longview District and the Bryan District. Among other appointments, he served as senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan for 11 years, beginning in 1959. Morris is survived by his wife, Mary Esther (Gunn) House. celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on 17 of this year. He also is survived by two sons, William Morris House, Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Palestine, Texas and Donald Reed House and his wife, Paula, of Station, Texas. The extended family includes five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on , 11, at Memorial Chapel in Bryan from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A service celebrating his life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Bryan at 10:00 AM , 12. Interment will follow at Evans Chapel near Leona, Texas, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM. Obituary: Dianne Newsom Webb House went to be with the Lord on the morning of 23, 2016. She died at her home in Nacogdoches, Tx. in peace, with love, admiration, and the comfort of her loving husband, 2 sons, and 2 grandsons. Dianne was born on 30, 1935 in Lufkin, Tx. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in May 1952 as Salutatorian of her class. She then attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. in the Fall of 1952, and graduated magna cum laude in 1956 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts, majoring in both English and Education, with a minor in Art History. While attending S.M.U. she was awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as, serving as an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority. a move back to her native East Texas in the winter of 1977 to Nacogdoches, she was able to re-kindle many friendships from her youth, while working in the community. She later applied her passion for the Liberal Arts, by achieving a Master of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University in of 1991, and furthered her career as a faculty member in the English dept., where she had the privilege of teaching until of 2012. She is survived by her loving husband Leland Earl House of Nacogdoches; sons David William Webb Jr., Duncan White Webb and wife Angela Pantalion Webb, grandsons Hayden William Webb and Blake Matthew Webb; stepson Leland Earl House Jr. and step-daughter Shari House Rivers. She was preceded in death by her former husband David William Webb, and beloved son Kevin Newsom Webb. services are set for 3:00 p.m. , 25, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches, located at 201 E. Hospital Street, with Dr. Jeff McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. , 24, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. Obituary: Dennis Gilbert House, 73, passed away on 3, 2015 in Seagoville, TX. He was born to Henry Gilbert and Dorothy Lee (Plunkett) House on May 18, 1942 in Lone Oak, TX. Dennis was an entrepreneur and craftsman that enjoyed building things. He was an evangelist for many years and also an Assembly of God minister. Dennis loved the Lord and is surely rejoicing with his Heavenly Father. He also enjoyed antiquing, going out to eat and spending time with the love of his life, Lynnette, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Other joys of his life included his three beloved furry companions, Cashmere, Chanel and Zoe. Dennis had a huge heart for dog rescue and always made sure to rescue from his local shelters. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother Kenneth House and sister Patsy House. Lynnette is sure the first person that greeted him in Heaven was his brother, Kenneth. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynnette House; siblings Joyce Weldon, Dearl House, Larry House and Sherri Hogue; several brother and sister-in laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends that will miss him dearly. Obituary: Chester K. "Chet" House, 87, of Tyler, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on , 4, 2014. Mr. House was born 25, 1927, to James Claude and Lura Adele House in Holly Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters and his wife of 35 years "Nita" House. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa; one brother, Ed House (Bonnie) of Camden, Arkansas; three daughters; Sue Waters of Statesboro, Georgia; Sheryl Leritte of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Tenna Scott of Mansfield, Texas. Also surviving are four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved, cherished, and influenced in the way of the Lord. He also leaves many dear friends who helped him in many ways in recent years. Mr. House was a retired Baptist minister. He and his wife Nita began serving as long-term care Ombudsmen for several nursing homes in Dallas, Seagoville, and Tyler. Mr. House continued serving after her death. He was an active member of Woods Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. Chet was an avid reader of theology and loved to discuss the Bible. Visitation will be held at Lloyd James in Tyler on , 8, at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Anthony Sisemore officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn in Seagoville, Texas, at 3:00 p.m. The family would like to thank all the staff at Oak Brook for their care. Memorials may be made in Chet's name to Woods Baptist Church, 4502 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas. |

Obituary: Charles Orval House, age 99, passed away on , 7, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. Charles was born on 28, 1915 in Alicia, Arkansas to Littleton and Iley House. He grew up on the family farm near Mount Vernon, Arkansas. Charles spent a year with the Civilian Conversation Corps (CCC) before enlisting in the United States Army in 1935. He was appointed as a Warrant Officer in 1942 and received a direct commission as a First Lieutenant in the Army Medical Service Corps in 1948. He retired from the Army after 30 years of service in 1965 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and then worked for 10 years in the U.S. Civil Service before his second retirement in 1975. His assignments, while on active duty in the Army, included Fort Riley, Kansas; two tours in the Philippines during and just after World War II; Stuttgart, Germany; three tours at Fort Sam Houston, Texas; and Puerto Rico. He was a member of the National Sojourners. He was married to his first wife, Mary Elizabeth (Daley) House for more than 62 years until her death in 2003. He was preceded in death by his son, John Kennard House and his second wife, Mary Lou (Graham) House. Charles is survived by his daughter, Jean House Brock and her husband, Dan; son, Richard Charles House and his wife, Nancy; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five sisters, and one brother.
