Obituary: Denison-Rita Jo Dorries Hoover, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on , 24, 2015 at the Baylor Medical in McKinney, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband J. W. Hoover Sr. with whom she spent 67 blessed years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter Rita Ann Melton and husband Ron of McKinney, Texas; son J. W. Hoover, Jr. and wife Janet of Wylie, Texas; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many close and dear friends. Rita was born 28, 1927 in Denison, Texas, one of two children of A. B. Dorries and Floy Harriett Coffman Dorries English. She was a lifelong resident of her beloved state of Texas. In her early years, the family moved to Troup, Texas and at age 16 the family moved back to Denison. She graduated Denison High School in 1945. She then went to work for the Kraft in Denison after graduation. In late 1945 she met the love of her life, J. W. Hoover, Sr.,only three months after he returned from WWII, after spending 3 ½ years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. married three months later on 26, 1946. She spent many years serving the Lord in her church, where she taught school and sang in the choir. She loved music and could be heard humming and singing throughout the day. Mrs. Hoover had a passion for helping all those in need. She gave of her time and resources helping any and every one she could when the opportunity arose. Her smile was contagious and if you were her friend, you knew she would always be there for you. She was a great cook and when you dropped by she always had something freshly baked. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she was always telling people the story of the Savior. A graveside service will be held 26, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Fariview in Denison with Rev. Danny Broughton officiating. Mrs. Hoover will lie in state for viewing at Bratcher in Denison , 26, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. |

Obituary: RICHARD DICK EDGAR HOOVER, age 83, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away , 27, 2011. He was born 19, 1927, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Edgar Jerry and Bertha Nicolay Hoover. Dick graduated from Battle Creek High School, in Battle Creek NE, in 1945. graduation he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-49. He later went on to receive a B.A. Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 1952. Dick retired in 1985 from Fairmont Foods Co. after thirty-three years of service. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Smith Hoover; cousins, Lorna Fundum of Norfolk, NE, Pearl Vidlac of Lincoln, NE, and Melba Nicolay of Battle Creek, NE; and many other loving relatives and friends. Obituary: Raymond A. Hoover, 93, of Pattonville, passed away , Aug. 14, 2014. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. , Aug. 18th at Bright-Holland with Rev. Jerry Smith & Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Highland at Deport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Hoover, the son of Herman Lee & Virgie Dudley Hoover, was born Feb. 12, 1921, in the Jennings Community of Lamar . On May 9, 1942, he married Frances Ann Finch, building 72 years of family and memories. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. During the war he was in the Leyte invasion. Raymond worked a few years for the Texas Highway Department before beginning his career with B & W which spanned 30 years before his retirement. He was a tireless worker for education in Lamar , dedicating 25 years of service to the school boards of East Lamar School and then Prairiland ICSD. Raymond was instrumental in forming the Prairiland ICSD by bringing four schools together. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Deport. Mr. Hoover was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had recently received his 60 year pin. Survivors include his wife, Frances, a daughter, Linda Green & husband Larry of Paris, two sons, John Hoover & wife Jill of Pattonville and Larry Hoover & wife Brenda of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Shane Morton, Randy Hoover, Lindsay Creighton, Jeff Campbell, Angie Sanders, Mitch Campbell, Daphne Thompson and Denise Smith, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three sisters, Faye Harper, Margaret Wadley and Hellen Hively along with numerous nieces, nephews and a plethora of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Juanita Russell and two brothers, Dudley Hoover and Lawrence Hoover. Raymond’s grandsons & great grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Obituary: Melvin C. Hoover was born on 3, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY. Melvin was the only son of Quay and Ada Hoover. Melvin's spent most of his life in Texas, and his childhood between Pennsylvania and Ohio. Melvin joined the Navy at age 17, with the consent of his parents. Melvin was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1961. Melvin then applied his knack as a Jack of all trades. Melvin did many things throughout his life and did them all well. He worked as a peace officer and finally worked for the Sherriff's office as a jailer. Melvin spent a proximity 15 years there. Melvin loved going deer hunting as well as working as a gun smith on his different guns. Melvin is survived by his children, Don Hoover, Doug Hoover, Jennifer Hoover (daughter n law), Krist Davis, and Daniel Hoover, his sister Janet DeLaCruz, and his grandchildren, Del Gardner, Dustin Gardner, Tiffany Hoover, Bret Hoover, Nick Hoover, and Rachel Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Melvin's name. |

Family was of utmost importance to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jewel Heath and brother, Richard Scott.
