Obituary: Clarence Ralph Holcombe died 6, 2013 at the age of 87. Preceded in death by his parents Ralph E. and Dorothy Branch Holcombe. Mr. Holcombe is survived by his sister, Anne H. Troy of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Fred A. Bransford; nieces, Joanna Hecker (James) of Albuquerque, NM, Dorothy Schlichting (Randy) of Atlanta, GA, Pauline Meier (Kent) of Colleyville TX; five great-nephews; four great-nieces; a great-great-niece; and special friends, Robert and Maria King and Roy and Marie Shipley. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He retired from Watson Electric . As a member of Rotary International he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a 32nd degree KCCH Mason and was a past master of the Vickery Lodge #1351 and a member of East Fork Lodge #640. Obituary: Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend: Carolyn Adams-Holcombe May 9, 1938 - 12, 2015 Carolyn Adams-Holcombe, 77 years old, died peacefully on , 12, 2015, at Providence Hospice in Waco, Texas due to a complication of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Prior to hospice care, she received treatment at Providence Hospital. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through this difficult time. Yet even throughout her struggle, she remained positive and in great spirits. Carolyn was born May 9, 1938 in Chilton, Texas to Floyie and Alma Adams. The older of two beautiful girls, her sister Sandra Chandler lives with her spouse Randy, in Chilton. graduating from Chilton High School on 1956, Carolyn attended Durhams Business in Austin, Texas. graduation she moved to Houston, Texas as she wanted to experience life in he big city. Shortly thereafter, she met her Sweetheart, Bud Holcombe. The couple was married on 1, 1958 at her parents home in Chilton. resided in Houston for a number of years before moving back to Chilton. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bud, of 58 years and children: Mark of Waco, Terrie Peterson of Frisco, Texas, and her sister Sandra Chandler of Chilton. Close family members include nephew Micah Chandler, wife Christine and their children Kyle, Ashton and Emily; nephew Joel Chandler, wife Brandi and their children, Carter and Caleb. Brother-in-laws, Randy Chandler and Max Holcombe of Houston and son-in-law, Jerry. Other family members include many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Carolyn worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at Falls Community Hospital in Marlin, Texas, for 28 yrs. before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chilton, the Friendship School class and Hostess Committee. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and son and looked forward to her trips to Frisco to visit daughter and son-in-law. She cherished time with Sister Sandra, brother-in-law and friends, and was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was known for her contagious laugh and loved happy and upbeat music. She also enjoyed playing 84 dominos, doing water aerobics, watching football, attending church and taking care of her sweet dog Jack, who will miss her dearly. Visitation information for family and friends of Carolyn Holcombe: There was a Visitation at Adams in Marlin, Texas on , 16, 2015 at 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral was presided by Brother Mark Newton and Brother Andy Kilpatrick at the First Baptist Church of Chilton, Texas on , 17th at 11:00am followed by a burial at the Chilton . Pallbearers included: Micah Chandler, Joel Chandler, Duck James, Danny Lobue, Gary Gray, Bruce Davis and Brent Holcombe. A luncheon reception for family and friends was held at First Baptist Church Annex following the burial. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, visits, cards and support from family and friends. We also want to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Providence Hospital and Providence Hospice . A special thanks and appreciation to Adams , First Baptist Church of Chilton and to the Hostess Committee for the wonderful luncheon reception. Obituary: Betty Jean Holcombe, age 84, died , 24 with her two daughters at her side. She was born 13, 1931 to the late Nina and Richard Boozer. She is preceded in death by her husband James Holcombe and sisters Mary Morrison and Cora Kerr. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Read and Barbara Graham, nieces Debbie Marcell and Tina Taliaferro, and sister-by-choice, Joyce King. Betty imparted much wisdom to her grandchildren Amber King, Roxxy Griffin, Luke Graham, Krystal Read-Segner, and eight great-grandchildren.
