She was born 3, 1933 in Calhoun, Mississippi and passed away 21, 2015 in Killeen. Annie was preceded in death by her husband Johnny M. Hoffpauir, parents, Essie and William Rish, brother, Jack Dempsey Rish and sister Mary Francis Tedford. Survivors include sister, Janie Nelson (John) of ville MS, daughters, Kathy Johnson (Lyle) of Auburn, WA, Sherry Hoffpauir (Joe Lombardi) of Copperas Cove, son Johnny M. Hoffpauir, Jr. (Marie) of Philadelphia, PA, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. As a military wife, she raised her family in Germany, France, Panama, Fort Lewis, WA, Fort Sill, OK and many other places always making it a home. She was a resident of Copperas Cove since 1972. She previously worked in the Darnall Army Community Hospital Emergency Room and as an employment counselor for Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency. She volunteered with the of Dimes, Salvation Army, Copperas Cove Quarterback Club and Hillside Ministries. Annie loved her church, family, breakfast at Lil Tex Restaurant and the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. On game day she was dressed and ready to go by 4pm to both home and away games to ing her bell |

Obituary: Betty Lou Williams Hoffner, passed-a-way peacefully on 12, 2015 (age 82) in Arlington, Texas. Services will be held at 11am 21st at First Baptist Church of Sulphur, officiated by Dr. Andy Buckley. Visitation will be held 5 - 8 pm , 20th at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial and , 9 - 11 am in the church. Born in the early thirties, the lessons learned from the recovery of the Great Depression and deep commitment to the virtues of the church allowed Betty embrace the virtue of public servitude. Her experiences in Edgerly and Sulphur solidified her foundation to guide, teach, nurture, and empower our family as we grew. meeting her husband (Donald C. Hoffner) near Chennault Air field in the early 50s she continued to support and encourage a new family in Southern California in marriage. She witnessed an exponential technological explosion in aviation and aeronautics as Don spent his time employed with JPL and Aerojet General, later with Lockheed Aircraft and finally with Bell Helicopter in Hurst Texas. Our family returned to Sulphur in 1966 where Don completed his career with Citi Service Oil . In each location, Betty enjoyed learning new crafts. These crafts included sewing, leather work, cake decorating, and cooking. These acquired skills allowed her to share with the family and the local community. Important to her was involvement with her church from normal services, Vacation Bible School to touring with the Senior Choir from Church Agin Cajuns. Her joy came from serving her family and community. Her support came by investing in the lives of her extended family: the Porties, Williams, Guillorys, and the Griffins. Survivors are three sons: Steven and his wife Amy of Arlington, Texas, Paul and his wife Amy of Rockville, Maryland, and Mark of Yreka California. Grand children: Allison and her husband Seth Goodling of Haltom city Texas, Jonathan, Kristen, and Megan of Arlington, Texas, Alisha Sternenberger of Boston, Massachusetts, Andrea Sternenberger of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Matthew Sternenberger of Washington D.C. Two Great Grandchildren Adelaide and Levi Goodling of Haltom City Texas Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church of Sulphur, 401 S. World War II, she resided in Washington, D.C. and pursued her professional career as a civil servant. She became an intelligence analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency assigned to the Soviet bloc countries. Retiring in 1976, she traveled extensively, then returned to San Antonio in 1984. As an active volunteer for her church and Easter Seals throughout her life, she completed hundreds of handmade crafts and Christmas items each year.
