Obituary: Carol Elizabeth (Heath) Hoff passed away , May 6, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born 21, 1960 to Arthur and Roma Heath in Geneva New York. A child of a military family, she spent most of her childhood overseas in Japan and Thailand. In her teen years her family moved to Lampasas where she later graduated from high school. She went on to graduate from Texas A&M University with a BA in Marketing in 1982. During her time at Texas A&M she met her husband Doyle and they were married May 21, 1983. had two children, Courtney & Logan and eventually moved to Marble Falls where they have lived for the past 24 years. Carol enjoyed the company of her friends and family and treasured the time spent with them. She also loved to travel and spend as much time with her beloved grandson, Graham. She will be fiercely missed but will be remembered as the greatest wife, mother, daughter, YaYa and friend. She is survived by her husband Doyle, son Logan, daughter Courtney Wing, son-n-law Dustin Wing, grandson Graham Wing, mother and father Roma & Art Heath and Mother-n- Law Beverly Walker all of Marble Falls along with numerous other family members. The family would like to thank Dr. Gladys Rodriguez and her staff at the START in San Antonio along with staff at Granite Mesa for their outstanding care during her long illness. We always will be grateful for all you did for her and our family. Obituary: Shane Marlow Hofer was born on May 23, 1961 in Huron, South Dakota, to Joseph G. Hofer & Elaine Baker Hofer. He was the middle child of three boys. He was rambunctious, fun, and had a sense of humor. He was a loving brother to his siblings. Shane was called by many names, Shaney, Shaney Pooh and Spanky, all to which he answered. high school, Shane earned an Associate Degree in Information Technology, which he used to become a successful CIO in the field for over 20 years. Shane enjoyed many things. He was a car fanatic. He had a 66 Impala & 70 Dodge Challenger. He loved to play golf. He and his son would run the Turkey Trot. He liked photography, football and traveling. Any outdoor water activities, he was in it. He enjoyed listening to classic & 70s music, such as The Eagles, Meatloaf, The Cars & Simply Red. His favorite song was I could only imagine by Mercy Me. His favorite movie was Top Gun. Shane was a family man, who loved people especially his relatives. His door was always open to people when they traveled and needed a place to stay. He loved family vacations and was committed and persistent about making sure everyone had a great time while he was around. There were NO Debbie Downers around him. When things didn quite go right, hed say, Houston, we have a wicked shimmy. He was spontaneous, fun-loving, adventurous and funny. Obituary: Barbara Hofacket, 80, passed away , 22, 2015 in San Angelo. She was born to the late, Jud and Verdie Wagley Neighbors on , 5, 1935 in Matador, Texas. Barbara worked as a bookkeeper in several industries, including education, medical and bankruptcy reorganization. She was of the Baptist faith. Barbara has been described as being spicy, unique and sassy. To say she had an independent streak and strong will just scratches the surface. She was a hard working lady who enjoyed decorating, sewing, dancing, bird hunting and puzzles. Barbara kept those she loved on their toes and will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Shannon Hofacket; and siblings, Bill Neighbors, Myers, Stanley Neighbors and Betty Rudder. Survivors include her children, Cory Hofacket and wife, Linda, Pete Hofacket and wife, Diane, and Shelly Shannon and husband, Savell; grandchildren, Jessica, Derrick, Shiloh, Zack and Lindsey, Ky and Brooke, Rhianna and Tad, Tate, and Evan; great grandchildren, Logan , Lillie, Luke, Kytier, T.J., Emily, Natalie, and Dockery is on the way; brother, Norman Speedy Neighbors and wife, Sandy; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on , 16, 2016 in the Johnsons Chapel, San Angelo. Obituary: Martha Mae Hoevelman (nee Smith) Martha Hoevelman, age 90, began her Heavenly journey on 22, 2016. Waiting to greet her was her husband, Ernie, her son David and wife Rose, Mother and Father Lilly and Bill Smith, her sister Irene Pearl and husband Al Roberts, brother Jim Smith, and brother Russell and wife Janet Smith. Keeping her alive in memory are her sons Steve and wife Carol, Mike and wife Janet, and son Robin and wife Gayle, brother Reverend Jerry and wife Agnes Smith, loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends. Martha was born Martha Mae Smith to Bill and Lilly Smith on 28, 1925 in Black Rock Arkansas. She was the third of five children born to Lilly. She graduated from Black Rock High School in 1944 and moved to St Louis MO to work and live with her sister Pearl. the war, she was introduced to Army veteran Ernie Hoevelman of Leslie, Missouri. were married in St Louis Missouri on 28, 1946. were blessed with two sons, Stephen and David while living in Missouri. In 1949 Ernie moved to Texas to work, and Martha joined him in early 1950. were blessed with two more boys, Michael and Robin. Once the boys were safely in school, Martha began working for Sears and Roebuck, to begin a career that lasted nearly 40 years until retirement. Mom was a bowler, often bowling games over 200. She would travel to bowl in tournaments in Texas as well as out of state. She would bowl on a mixed league with Pop or on a womens league. She continued bowling until she was over 80 years old. She loved to garden, growing tomatoes just to have fried green tomatoes. Pop would have to guard one or two of them just so he could have a red tomato. She enjoyed making jellies and butters and lets not forget those pies. She made the best pies ever. She enjoyed time with the family at the property in Conroe. It seemed like they cleared that place for over 20 years and never had it cleared enough for anything but a small construction building to sleep in. But it got her out of the tent. Mom loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would pull out the toy box from the washroom and sit on the floor and play with the kids. In her final years Mom began having memory problems, but she would always remember her family and friends. For the last few years her good friend Thelma Thompson was the one that made sure Mom was able to stay home by helping with things that Mom couldn do anymore. With Thelmas help, Mom was able to remain in the home she had lived in for over sixty five years. We, the family, can begin to thank her enough. Taking Martha to her final rest are her grandsons David, Stuart, Bryan, Jared and William, and her great grandson Eli. Honorary pall bearers are her great grandsons Josh, Axl, and Xander. |
