Obituary: Robert L. Hight Bob Hight, a resident of Santa Clara, CA died at the age of 74 on 17, 2013. The cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest. Bob was born in Phoenix, AZ on 15, 1939. He came to California as a young boy and graduated from Santa Cruz High School. He was a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW 332 for more than 40 years. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also an accomplished man with varied interests. Among them were home brewing, singing, writing, stained glass designing, keyboarding and baking bread. Most recently he set out to further his education through “The Great Courses” with specific interests in history, economics, religion, science, music, art, gardening and cooking. Bob was also an avid reader enjoying mysteries by Sue Grafton, Cara Black, Dashiell Hammett, P.D James, Raymond Chandler and Agatha Christie. He also enjoyed the humor of Carl Hiaasen, Christopher Buckley, Bill Bryson, Christopher Moore and P.G. Wodehouse. Non-fiction books were another genre he favored. Obituary: Meredith Emily Lane was born, , 12, 1989, in Chamblee Georgia, to Gene Lane and Debra Dunham Lane and quickly became their pride and joy. She was a happy, precious child who started speaking at the early age of six months. She rarely cried and brought joy to all who met her. Meredith grew up in Snellville and Flowery Branch Georgia. Her mother affectionately referred to Meredith as, Honey-Bunny, and her father lovingly referred to her as, Munchkin. In high school many of her friends referred to her as, Mel, or Mer. Work peers often referred to her as Fireball, for the spark and fire she had for life that showed when she made her presence in a room. Meredith spent her early years just being a kid. She loved playing in the woods, being with her dog Abby and inventing board games that filled the driveway. She began ballet at age three and continued ballet and jazz dance for ten years. She was a natural, o fear competitor, who won 1st place in Synchronized Swimming for the Southeastern US Region at age eight. She was also an equestrian and volleyball player. Meredith was 2nd runner-up for Miss Teen of Georgia at age thirteen. At the age of fifteen, as high school sophomore, she was one of two students to represent the State of Georgia at the Presidential Classroom in Washington DC. Her most memorable meetings were with current Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal, and the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. She graduated West Hall High School, Oakwood, Georgia, which was a proud moment for her parents. Her last two years of high school she was part of Georgia Academy of Math Engineering and Science (GAMES), where she attended Georgia Middle on a dual enrollment program receiving high school and college credit. She graduated University of Texas, Dallas with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. Merediths career path started as a teenager with the joy of riding horses. During college she worked in the food service industry. Upon graduation from University of Texas, Dallas, Meredith went to work for the Coca-Cola in various customer facing positions with her last position as Merchandising Supervisor. Meredith parents would want their precious daughter to be remembered as loving, sincere, forever willing to help others, patriotic, and stubborn. She had the ability to make you feel at ease and want to talk with her. She made you feel that what you had to say was important to her. She loved being around people and they loved to be around her. Meredith had a passion for attending Renaissance Festivals in full costume. She also frequently attended concerts, where she danced and danced. She was known as the Dance Queen, on 311 cruises, as she would dance around the entire deck during the bands performances. Meredith had a life motto: Love Your Life and Give Love to Everyone on Your Journey. Meredith was preceded in death by her Granddaddy, L. Vann Dunham. Meredith is survived by her loving parents: Gene and Debra Lane, grandmother: Betty Dunham, Uncle: David Dunham, Aunt: Sabra Dunham, Cousin: Alexa Dunham, dogs: Lulu and Chaucer, and a plethora of friends and co-workers. Obituary: Mary Helen Babe Cason Hight, whose funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. , May 2, 2015, at Christ Episcopal Church, was considered a valued member of the Nacogdoches community, an involved Episcopalian at Christ Episcopal Church, and a frequent volunteer in charitable services to the city. She was born 29, 1925, to Thomas Bowden Cason and Martha Theodocia Griffith Nelson of Nacogdoches and was delivered by her cousin, Dr. A.A. Nelson, in her mothers family home at 522 E. Main in the city. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School where she was president of the Honor Society. She spent her freshman year at Hockaday in Dallas, Texas, and the following year at Stephens in Columbia, Missouri. She received a bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin in history and social work and became a social worker in Houston and Dallas before marrying Joseph J y Hight from Mexia, Texas. Nicknamed Babe or Money by family and friends, she was a bright creative and active person whose loyalty to family was unmatched. her husbands retirement, she returned to Nacogdoches adding her organizational ability and financial support to the beginning of Daughters of the King at Christ Episcopal Church. A volunteer to meals on wheels, the womens shelter, and Godtel, she included such charities with her other activities. She passed away at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital on , 28, 2015, with quietness, peaceful repose, and resolve after 89 years in love of God, church, and those in need. Mary Helen is survived by three children: Bowden Cason Hight of Austin, Texas, Roger Hight and wife Rebecca of the same city, and Arlene y Reeves and husband Bruce of Ennis, Texas. Daughter Martha Helen Orr and son Eugene Genie Hight preceded her in death, as well as her husband, who died in 2007. Grandchildren surviving her are y Marie Hight, Susan Marie Hight, Akemi Martha Hight, and Starr Yoshie Hight, all from Austin. One great-grandchild is Violet Lucille Lincoln, also from Austin. Pallbearers are Rich Braun, Don Noot, Jamie Thompson, Dan Norton, Mike Keller, John Fleming, Bruce Reeves, and Bill Patton.
