Obituary: AUDREY BLANCHE CARRIER HICKMAN was born in Cleveland, Ohio, 4, 1926, to Florence and Hobart Carrier. Her older brother, Philip Carrier, served in the Marine Corps in WWII and was killed at Iwo Jima in 1945. She graduated Allegheny and, soon after, went to New York to study dance with the famed dancer and choreographer, Chester Hale. She was cast in the original touring company of the Broadway musical Oklahoma!, hand-picked by Richard Rodgers to play the lead dance hall girl, and studying with the choreographer, Agnes de Mille. She met her husband of 57 years, John Hickman, while they were both performing in the revival of the Broadway musical Firefly. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Kathleen Kent, Kevin Hickman and Kimberley Morrison, and a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Kelly and Katie Morrison and Joshua Orlowsky. Her greatest love, other than her family, was to dance, and she continued performing in community theater, and with the dance group Class Act, whose members devote much of their time performing for the elderly and veterans. She also danced in the Senior Follies well into her eighties and delighted in the friendship of her castmates and beloved Class Act Ladies.
