Obituary: Peggy Hethcock, 78, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, , 29, 2013. Celebration of Life: 11:00 A.M., , May 4, 2013, at The Church on Rush Creek, located at 2350 SW Green Oaks Blvd. in Arlington. Peggy was born 17, 1934, in Bluejacket, Oklahoma, and at the age of 11, she and the family moved to Houston. She met Al Hethcock while attending the University of Houston. were married 59 years and 8 months and had 4 girls and 1 boy: Debra Avant, Barbara Gardner, Laura Molleur, Ronda White, and David Hethcock. Peggy had 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Jerry Ballard and Pat David and 9 nephews and nieces. She had been a real estate agent, but her first career love was being a homemaker. Peggy was lovingly known by her family as Peg, Mom, Mama, and Mimi. Her love was her family, church, missions, many friends, and being with Al. Peggy helped lead mission trips (27 consecutive years) at an orphanage in Mexico, and mission trips to Paraguay, SA. Peggy authored 2 cookbooks: one as a fund-raiser for an orphanage and the second for Rotary District 5930. She held advanced certification as a Facilitator Couple Leader with ACME (Association of Couples in Marriage Enrichment). She was also a certified leader with Life Way conducting Fall Festival of Marriage workshops in 7 states. Peggy and Al were leaders with Hope for the Family with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Since 1986, they conducted workshops, seminars, and retreats for over 10,000 couples. Peggy was very active in assisting Al with numerous Rotary activities for over a period of 48 years. She worked behind the scenes for a state wide training program for Rotary Club President-Elect for 25 consecutive years. Peggy will be missed by many. She left a legacy of love. She will be remembered as a lady who loved her Lord with all her heart, soul, and strength. |

Obituary: Lillian Bernice Hestwood, 95, passed away on 11, 2017 in Amarillo, TX where she had resided for the past year. A lifelong Oklahoman, Bernice was born 2, 1921 in Poteau, OK to Mabra and Zelma Smith. She graduated from Poteau High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma A&M where she met her husband of 63 years, the late Dr. J. William (Bill) Hestwood, who served as a United Methodist Minister in the Oklahoma Conference. Bernice dedicated her life to the church, serving as a preachers wife beginning in 1947, with church appointments in Tulsa, Shawnee, Oklahoma City, and Muskogee where she was loved and admired by all. Music was a big part of her life as she was an accomplished pianist and organist. She also served as an administrative assistant for the Oklahoma Conference and was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Bernice is survived by three sons; Art Hestwood and wife Trena of Amarillo, Texas; John Hestwood and wife Carol of Overland Park, Kansas; and Jim Hestwood of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was Nana to eight grandchildren and Great Nana to eleven great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She will be missed by all who knew her and remembered for her love and compassion for people. Graveside services will be held be at 2:00 p.m. 17, 2017 at Memorial Park , Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Rev. David Thomas officiating by Memorial Park 6969 I-40 East. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the St. Lukes United Methodist Church foundation, 222 N.W 15th, OKC 73103. under the direction of Memorial Park & , Amarillo, TX. |

Obituary: Eleanor Doris Heston, 95, passed away 20, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Houston. The daughter of Edward and Signe Swanson, she was born on 30, 1920 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She married Rolland Heston on 25, 1942. In the years following World War II, she lived in Comstock, TX., Grand Forks, N.D., Milwaukee, Wis., Palatine, III., San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Houston, where she has resided for the past 43 years. An accomplished violinist, she taught Kindergarten in school districts in Minnesota and Palatine, Illinois and was active in Memorial Drive Lutheran Church of Houston. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years and is survived by daughter, Mary Giannoules of Houston, son Michael and wife Mary Ann of Gladstone, MO., 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Viewing will be at 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Forest Park Westheimer 26, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am 26, 2016 at Forest Park Westheimer . Obituary: Col. Warren R. Hester DDS, USAF Ret, age 93, of San Antonio passed away on May 27, 2008. He was born 27, 1914 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Percy and Helena Hester of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. While in high school he went to Citizens Military Training Camp at Fort Dix, New Jersey. graduating UMKC Dental in Kansas City, he set up in a private practice in Orange, New Jersey, and got married. He was called into active duty with the U.S. Army Reserves just before WWII. During that war, he served three years and three months in the South Pacific. returning to the U.S. he was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. There he joined the regular Army and was transferred to Randolph Field. In 1947 he became an Air Force Officer and continued a career teaching and practicing dentistry with the School of Aviation Medicine. Military awards include the Legion of Merit and two Air Force Commendation Medals. serving in the military for 33 years he retired. He then served on the staff of UT Dental School doing research. He was a member of the American Dental Association International; Association for Dental Research, F.A.C.D.. Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Americal Division Veterans Association, Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, for which he served as President for several terms. He also served as President of his local chapter of AARP and was an active member of his neighborhood association. He was preceded in death by his first wife Juanita K. Hester and his second wife Dorothy G. Hester and his brother, Howard C. Hester. He is survived by his daughter, Anita K. Hester and his nephew Robert C. Hester, stepsons Gregg and Gary McLaughlin and their families. Visitation will be on , May 29th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Dental Association, 211 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60611. |
