Obituary: Carol Tevis Harris entered the gates of Heaven on , 26, 2015. Services will be at 10:00 AM on , 29, 2015 at Forest Lawn Chapel with Brother Lennie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on , 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
Carol was born on 31, 1932 in Beaumont, Texas to Frank and Ruth Tevis. She was the younger sister of brother, Leon Tevis. She was raised in the Beaumont area, and was a graduate of French High School, where she served as drum major. She formed many lifelong friendships while in school, and remained close to many of them over the years.
She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Harris, in 1953, with whom she would go on to have and raise five children. She was most devoted to her family, attending countless school events and youth baseball games during their school years. She also worked to ensure each of her children was instructed in the Christian faith. She shaped each of her childrens spirituality through her tireless Christian example and witness.
Following her husbands death in 1991, she relocated to Lumberton, Texas. She continued her devotion to family through her remaining years, and took great joy in sharing her nurturing love with her twelve grandchildren, as well as her great grandchildren. She especially loved participating in large family gatherings, and loved hearing about what each of her family members were doing at the time.
Carol possessed a contagious smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being influenced by her Christian witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter, will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Ruth Tevis, brother, Leon Tevis and husband, Dale Harris.
Survivors include daughters; Terri Rutledge and her husband Kenny, Nancy LaRousse and her husband Marc, and Mary Nell Williams and her husband David. sons; Phil Harris and his wife Katy, and Danny Harris and his wife Myrna. Twelve grandchildren; Sheri Boren and husband John, Kerri Jo Wilson and husband Joey, Anthony Harris and fiancé Nicole Gaspar, Joanna Harris, Jason Harris, Emily McCullough and husband Josh, Aaron Harris and fiancé Caleigh Etheredge, Allie Harris, Eric LaRousse, Morgan LaRousse, Casey Vasquez and husband James, and Brandon Williams and wife Angela; Seven great-grandchildren; Taylor Kemp, Tiffany Kemp, Holly Wilson, Jenna McCullough, Abby McCullough, Layne Williams, and Branson Williams, and one great-great grandson, Carson Mooring.
Joey Wilson, Anthony Harris, Jason Harris, Josh McCullough, Aaron Harris, Eric LaRousse, James Vasquez and Brandon Williams will be serving as pallbearers.

Obituary: Beryl Dean Harris was born to Beryl R. and Jewel Bearden Harris on 24, 1927 in Pampa, Texas. He passed away , 25, 2010 in Lubbock. He married George Ann McKee on 2, 1953 in Levelland, Texas. He spent his life in education. He was a band director at Olton, Pampa Jr. High, Levelland Jr. High, and Littlefield. He was then High School Principal at Keller and Shallowater. He was also Counselor, Teacher Evaluator, and Administrative Assistant for six years in Ropesville half-time, teaching a total of forty four years. While at Olton he was the band director and assistant football coach. He was eighteen and had an emergency teaching certificate at that time. He graduated from Levelland High School. He was in band and Athletics there (football and track). In high school he was a member of the Texas Defense Guard and was in the U. S. Air Force 1951-1952. He received his BS in Education on 1949 and his MS in Education in 1951 from Texas Tech. While going to school he had a number of summer jobs. He worked for a bakery, was a janitor at the Recreation Hall at Tech (two years), taught in the Tech Summer Band School, sold encyclopedias, and insurance, and also measured cotton for the USDA, and had a small farm. He was an Eagle Scout, Scout Master, Den Master (Cub Scouts). In he participated in intramural football and table tennis (doubles championship), was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi (Honorary band fraternity), Texas Tech Band (Bassoon), Alpha Phi Omega (Boy Scout Fraternity), Phi Beta Mu (Professional band directors fraternity), Life Time P. T. A., Phi Delta Kappa (professional educators fraternity), and Lions Club (twenty years). He was also a member of the Texas State Teacher Assoc., National Education Assoc., Texas Retired Teacher Assoc., Retired Administrators Assoc., and the ACBL (bridge). He sang in the Amarillo San Jacinto Boys Choir, Played in the Myers Music Mart Band (Amarillo), Central Junior High Band (Amarillo), Amarillo High School Band, Levelland High School Band, Texas Tech Band 514th Air Force Band (Reese AFB), Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, and Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. He also sang in Church vocal ensembles. He studied genealogy, and also wrote a short history of the early Texas Tech Band (first twenty years). He was appreciative of his many friends and his students and their efforts. He had respect for the friendship and dedication of the faculties with which he worked. He loved books and continued to enjoy listening to and collecting music. were a great joy to him. He was a member of the Church of Christ. His parents and brother, Eddie Lee, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, and children; Annelle Harrison, Jim Bob and LeLani Harris, Charles and Debbie Harris, four grandchildren; Shannon, Aaron, Heath, and Chad, great granddaughter; Penelope Murphy Harris. He loved his family and was very proud of each one of them.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you remember your favorite charity.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 am, , 29, 2010 at Resthavens Abbey Chapel with Jay Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, , 28, 2010 at Resthaven .

Obituary: Sister Bernice Harris was born 23, 1925 in Houma, Louisiana, to the parentage of Mr. & Mrs. Dock and Claudia Harris, who preceded her in death. She was one of 6 children, 2 brothers, Steve Harris and Bill Harris; 3 sisters, Verna Harris, Mary Harris, and Annette Harris, who have all preceded her in death. She was educated in the Buckner, Arkansas public school system.

She professed Christ at an early age and served as a devoted member of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Norris Hamilton and continued serving under Pastor Eddie R. Island, Sr.

She was first married to the late Robert Brown and to this union, one son was born. Some time later, she married the late Lowell E. Crawford and to this union one daughter was born. She then married the late Nathanial Wright for whom she was devoted to for more than 40 years.

This precious angel, God sent to earth, left this life and transitioned to eternal rest on May 21, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Larry Brown of Cedar Hill, Texas; daughter, Bonita (Willie) Miles of Mesquite, Texas. 1 grandson, Cedric Brown, 3 granddaughters Marsona (Nikkitia), Jackson both of Dallas, Texas, Gigi (Kevin) Post of Mascoutah, Illinois and Jessica Heard of Cibolo, Texas; 3 great-grandsons, Marquin, Emmanuel and Isaiah; 6 great-granddaughters Cesley, Crystal, Kennedy and Sydney, Shania, & Makayla; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sons Lonnie Harris, Mike Harris and his wife Donna, one nephew Jimmy Estilll, four grandchildren Kyle Harris, Ashlee Szymanski, Lebecca McMahon and Brent Harris. Five great grandchildren Joshua, Keegan, Camille Szymanski. Kennedy and Nora Harris. Joe had many many friends that he leaves behind. He will be missed.
