Obituary: Ann Prasek Hanselman, age 88, passed away peacefully on 9, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on 20, 1928, to Tom and Julia (Layton) Prasek in Witting, Texas. Following a whirlwind courtship, on 29, 1946, she and Joe Hanselman married and lived in Tivoli. Joes passing, Ann moved to her little house on the bay in Austwell. Once diagnosed with multiple myeloma, Ann never complained, maintained a positive attitude, and stayed optimistic about the future. Ann epitomized compassion, empathy, devotion, and love to family and friends alike and was a role model to all. A true lady, as many said- being just as beautiful on the inside- as well as on the outside. Before her illness, Ann was active in many ways. As an avid hunter; she looked forward to the opening day of deer season. When it came to baking desserts or cooking for others, Anns hospitality was as big as her heart. Her pecan pie, baked chicken, and fruit salad will never be duplicated by another. Whether it was working in the yard, sitting in her swing, attending mass, or taking care of a loved one, Ann did it with finesse and a love for life in itself. Ann was the bookkeeper for Tivoli Iron Works, a business that she and Joe owned for forty years. She was employed for nine years with Austwell-Tivoli ISD as a secretary and for 15 years with Calhoun ISD as an Administrative Assistant with Special Services. She served on Austwells City Council. Additionally, she was steadfast to her Catholic faith while assisting in many functions at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Saint Anthony Catholic Church. Ann wore many hats throughout her 88 years, but the most important ones were that of being a mom and a grandma to her four children, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grand-children. Ann is survived by two daughters Linda Williams (Richard) of Port Lavaca and Lisa Anderson (Carl) of Austwell. She is also survived by two sons Danny Hanselman (Kim) of Victoria, and Jackie Hanselman (Joyce) of Tivoli. Left to honor and remember Anns love are her grandchildren- Sherry Williams Morish (Robbie), Ricky Williams (Elisa), Brandi Anderson Wright, Kevin Anderson (Jenny), Madlen Hanselman Matej (James), Joseph Hanselman (Michelle), Jason Hanselman (Brianna), Joshua Hanselman, and Jared Hanselman (Robin). She is also survived by fifteen great-grand-children and a brother, Gene Prasek (Marilyn) of Burleson. Known as Aunt Ann or Aunt Annie Mae, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews as well. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers Roy, Leo, Raymond, Carl, and Tommy Prasek, along with baby twin sisters. The family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to those individuals that were genuinely devoted and to the doctors that provided care to Ann. would like to personally recognize: Dr. Paul Bunnell and the staff at Memorial Medical , Dr. Roman-Lopez, Dr. George Osuchukwu, Dr.Dakshesh-Kumar Parikh, the staff at Trinity Shores, AARN Services, and Dr. Dan Garza and staff. The family is indebted to Anns private care-givers, who provided love, compassion, and dignity to her while becoming her extended family. Finally, they would like to thank Linda Maldonado whom Ann embraced as an adopted grand-daughter. Pallbearers are Ricky Williams, Robbie Morish, Kevin Anderson, Joseph Hanselman, James Matej, Jason Hanselman, Joshua Hanselman, and Jared Hanselman. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm at Richardson-Colonial with a rosary at 7pm on , 12, 2017. services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli at 10am followed by burial in the Tivoli , 13, 2017.
