Obituary: On May 20, 2002, God called his servant and angel Kimberly S. Hanke home after a heroic battle with cancer. Kim was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. She was a committed and active member in St. LukeÂs Episcopal Church and School, including the Young Couples Ministry. Kim felt blessed to have such strong friendships and support from her Âsisters in Christ. Kim and the family were and continue to be awestruck by the outpouring of love, care and support that has been given during this time. Additionally, the family would like to recognize the tireless staff of University Hospital and especially the staff in the Transplant Intensive Unit. Kim is survived by her husband of 11 years, Danny Hanke; son, Garrett Reid Hanke; mother, Kathy and Ben Cantrell; father, Mike and Chris Smith; brothers, Jeff Smith, Scott Smith, Lance and Karen FitZsimon, and Drew FitZsimon; niece, Leslie Clay; nephews, Brian Smith, Micah Smith and Chance Clay; mother and father-in-law, Genie and Dan H. Obituary: It is with a heavy heart our family announces the passing of Jeffrey Ray ÂJeff  Hanke due to a sudden auto accident, 17, 2005. Jeff was born 2, 1967 in Cuero and grew up in Victoria. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1986 and received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UTSA and continued on to receive his Certified Financial Analyst Certification. Jeff was a proud and dedicated employee at SBC. Jeff was an avid golfer since his early teens and was always ready to play anytime, anywhere and had created many a friendship on the golf course over the years. Obituary: Margaret Hankamer, 93, of Austin, passed away , the 16th of , 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born the 16th of , 1917 in Elgin, Texas to Charlotte Koehler and Alex Moore. Margaret was the 1934 valedictorian of Elgin High School and attended Tyler Commercial in Tyler, Texas on a full scholarship. On graduation in 1935, she was employed by Texas Power and Light in Tyler where she met and married C. J. Hank Hankamer on 8, 1938. During World War II, Hank was employed at the Lago Oil Refinery on the island of Aruba. Despite the turmoil of war she was happy. Their first child was born and lasting friendships were forged during their time on the island. the war, the family returned to Texas, finally settling in Austin in 1962. She devoted most of her life to being a homemaker for her family. She was a voracious reader, believed in the importance of a good education, and saw to it that the family budget allowed all three of her children to attend college. Hanks death in 1973, she worked for and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling; places included Hawaii, Alaska, and New England. Perhaps her most memorable trip was the Willrich Family Reunion tour to Germany where she met her German cousins and was able to learn more about her mothers ancestors. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, C. J. Hankamer and her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Dale Davis. She is survived by her children; son, Michael Hankamer and his wife, Lea; daughter, Cathy Jarl and her husband, Alan; and son, Steve Hankamer; four grandchildren, Derek Hankamer and his wife, Nicole; Courtney Hankamer; Jennifer Jarl McCombs and her husband, Jason McCombs; Jeffrey Jarl; two great-grandchildren, Anna Noelle and Clara Katherine; and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers from Heavenly giver Services, Inc. for making it possible for her to remain at home until last year and to the wonderful staff of Buckner Villa and Buckner Hospice for making her comfortable during her final months. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to CurePSP or a charity of your choice are appreciated. Memorial Services will be conducted on , the 23rd of , 2011 at two oclock in the afternoon at Cook-Walden , 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin. |
