Obituary: Charles Russell Hamilton went to be with the Lord on 24, at the age of 87. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. , 28, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. , 26, at the funeral home. Private family interment will take place on . Charles was a World War II veteran, a loyal employee of General Dynamics/Lockhead Martin, for 45 years, a Mason, and a vital member of his community. He volunteered at Birdville Baptist Church, as the Watauga volunteer Fire Chief, city board member, and a dedicated school crossing guard. Most importantly Charles loved his Savior and his family. Obituary: Charles Braden Hamilton passed away 1, 2011 in Victoria, Texas at the age of 79. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana he was raised in and around Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Charles graduated high school at the age of 16, attended one semester at the University of Wisconsin and then enlisted in the Army at age 17. He served in Okinawa, Japan as a distinguished member of the 5th Army Band. Charles was honorably discharged in 1952 and soon, there after, headed for California where he traveled the country playing with many professional bands as a trombonist. Charles finally settled down, started a family and turned his attention towards his education and a career in accounting. In 1964 Charles moved to Victoria, and shortly there after, opened an accounting firm in which he devoted endless hours catering to his clients needs until present day. During the ensuing years Charles was active in many civic organizations, namely, Victoria Symphony Society (founding member and director for 22 years), Hospice of South Texas (board member, 4 years), Diabetes Assoc (Director, 1 year), Northside Rotary Club (charter member and director, 20 years), as well as the Jaycees, United Way and others. Charles also taught accounting at Victoria . In 1982 Charles married his beloved wife, Marilyn, with whom he spent the last 28+ years traveling around the world on dozens of cruises and adventures. Together they shared an undeniable love for their family, friends and animals. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Walter Braden Hamilton and Norbelle Flint Eastman, his daughter Ricki Lynn Hamilton, his brothers Braden Hamilton and James Hamilton and his step-mother Eleanora Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Moore Hamilton; his daughter Tracy Hamilton Byers and grandson Dean Byers both of Pearland, Tx.; his son Gregory Braden Hamilton and grandson Austin Braden Hamilton both of Houston, Tx.; his daughter Andee Starling and grandchildren Ricki, Kevan, Sara and Erika Starling and great grandson Koby all of Victoria, Tx; and his son Zackry Sadler, daughter in law, Kelly Sadler and grandchildren Gracyn and Jacob McCarty also of Victoria. Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 pm, , 4th at Rosewood . , 5th, at 1:00pm Rev. Clyde Larrabee will officiate the grave side service at Oakland , Navasota, Texas. Pallbearers will be Dr. Uri Gonik, Dr. Scott Hoopes, Blake Perkins, Todd Perkins, Capt. Gene Rydell, Avril Sassman, and Ricki Starling. Honorary pallbearers are John Etheredge, Richard Heller, James Kiening, B.E. Leissner, John Shutt and William "Rusty" Wallace III. Special thanks is given to the wonderful ICU nurses, doctors and staff at Detar Hospital Navarro who worked diligently towards Chucks recovery and ministered lovingly and compassionately to his loved ones.
