Obituary: Hugh Halff, Jr., age 76, passed away on , 4, 2011. He was born in San Antonio and attended San Antonio Academy, Texas Military Institute, Princeton University, and the University of Texas. HughÂs family immigrated from Alsase Loraine and settled in the San Antonio area in the late 1880Âs. The family business spread from cattle and dry goods to oil, communication and other areas. HughÂs great uncle, G.A. C. Halff founded WOAI radio and TV which at an early age he took over as President and became very successful in the companyÂs operations.
