Obituary: Deborah Ann Hale was born 2, 1949 in Deer Park, Texas and passed away 30, 2015 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 66. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She was a devoted member of the Eastern Star. Deborah Ann had just retired from H&R Block after 13 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Earl and Plorine Fulton Kaufman. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Van Hale of Conroe, Texas; son Jeffrey Wyman Hale and wife Sarah Ann of New Waverly, Texas; daughter Melissa Ann Galloway and husband Troy of Magnolia, Texas; sister Donna Kay Kaufman of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jaron Galloway, Kavan Galloway, Holly Hale and Van Hale; aunt Jean Deaton and uncle Doug Dixon. Memorial Service will be held in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on , 2, 2015 at 3pm with Pastor John Unger officiating.

Obituary: Final TAPS was sounded for David Lincoln Hale when he passed, 9, 2017, in Byers, TX after a decline in health. A member of the Greatest Generation David was a CW04 (retired) USAF, WWII Veteran with 30 years of U.S. Military service.
Born on Lincolns birthday, 12, 1918, in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Hale was the youngest of three children born to George F. and Hatty M. Eggleston Hale. He attended Minneapolis Public Schools and received a BA in Music from the University of Minnesota
In 1940, Mr. Hale joined the Minnesota Coast Guard Artillery, which was activated on 8, 1941. He was shipped to San Francisco, and applied for, and was accepted to the Army Music School in Washington, D.C, where he graduated with honors and was commissioned a Chief Warrant Officer and Band Director in the Army Air Corps, which later became the United States Air Force. During his military service, Mr. Hale served in Minnesota, California, Washington, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. His overseas assignments were Washington, Germany, Tripoli, Libya and Okinawa, Japan. His last post before retirement was director of the 761st Air Force Band of the Oil Belt at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX, where he retired in 1971. He moved to Byers in 2010.
David L. Hale and the love of his life, Mary Grace Darby of Minneapolis, MN, were married on 6, 1942 in San Francisco, California. celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary with a family reunion this past . He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace; son Bruce D. Hale and his wife Carol of Byers, Texas and daughter Audrey L. Voight, of Wichita Falls, TX. Grandchildren are: Mary Riggs-Cuyno of Joshua Tree, CA, Terri Hale Whitgrove of Byers, TX, Christy Riggs of Belpre, Ohio and Tracy Hale-Salkowski of Royce City, TX. Also surviving are great-grandchildren; David Cuyno, Jaclyn Cuyno, Arron Riggs, Caled Riggs, Shane Whitgrove, James Hayden Whitgrove, Bruce Dawson Hale and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. Hale was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, including University United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Couples Class, also the Byers United Methodist Church. He also served as a choir director for Iowa Park Methodist Church. He was a member of Armed Forces Musicians Associations, Maskat Shrine, Faith Masonic Lodge and Knights Templar.
Music was always a central part of Mr. Hales life. He played solo violin in church at age 5. At Central High School, he played trumpet in the band, and was a ugle call champion. Later, he was a drum major in 216th Coast Artillery Band. He was a master on French horn, and played with the Wichita Falls Symphony, where he also served as librarian. He often played horn with the Midwestern Band. In his private studio, he taught French horn lessons to high school and college students.
He played bugle many years for Masket Temple Drum and Bugle Corps, in which he competed nationally and won numerous first places and solo gold medals in North American Shrine Association Drum Corps competitions. He was a member and director of Wichita Falls Community Band, and he helped organize the brass ensemble Second Time Around in Wichita Falls.
Mr. Hale won military commendations for writing and arranging the Libyan national anthem and training a drum and bugle corps of Libyan and American school boys who played for Kind Idris III and Vice President Nixon.
A career highlight was directing the Sheppard Air Force Band in Houston at NASA for President Nixon when he welcomed the Apollo 11 astronauts. Neil Armstrong, Ed Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins when they left quarantine after the first moon landing.
At age 97, Mr. Hale was the oldest bugler to audition for, and was accepted into, Bugles Across America, an organization which provides live bugle TAPS for military funerals. In 2015, Mr. Hale was selected by the Honor Flight Association to travel to Washington, DC, where he sounded TAPS at military monuments and war memorials. While in Washington DC, he was recognized by the UASAF Band Director, Col, Arnald D. Gabriel.
Upon retiring from the Air Force in 1971, Mr. Hale started Hale Piano Service with his son Bruce, and became a registered piano technician in the Piano Technicians Guild and served as Texoma Chapter President.
Visitation is , 13th from 6:00-8:00 P.M at Hampton Vaughan . services will be held , 14th at University United Methodist Church, located at 2304 Midwestern Parkway in Wichita Fall, TX. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
