Obituary: Haruko Harrison, 87, of Huntington Beach, California, passed away on 26, 2015. Haruko is survived by, her husband of 60 years, Edward, her daughter Mary and two grandsons Jesse and William. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and son David. Haruko was born in the Kyushu Province of Japan. She lived her youth in Korea and had first hand experience with the Russian invasion, she lived through it. 1952 Haruko met Edward Harrison in Tokyo at the 8169th Army Unit General Hospital and married 18, 1955 in Japan at both the Japanese and American Consulate. 1956 Haruko and Edward entered the US. She lived in Junction City, Kansas and had her two children, Mary and David, there. As a military wife she and her family traveled to two different cities in Germany; Killeen, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; then moved to Orange , California. When she first moved to Westminster California she created her own job, she ironed, mended and made clothing for others. Then she worked for many years as a top seamstress at Eddie Moss sewing factory in Westminster. There was no other woman as fast and accurate as Haruko. Later she worked at Printronix, a computer printing company. She first was assembling printers then later became the go to gal for customer service plus assembling new prototype printers for the engineers. Haruko has always been very focused and was a master at creating techniques for accuracy and higher productivity. Her bosses loved her. At home Haruko created beautiful one of a-kind clothing and jewelry for herself and others wanted her to make them the beautiful art-wear too. Haruko was also health and fitness oriented. When she worked she would walk during her breaks and lunch. Then when she retired she got a pedometer and challenged herself everyday. She walked all over Huntington Beach. She started at a mile then worked herself up to 15 miles in one day. She became a marathon walker and everyone on her path knew Haruko, the dogs especially loved her. Haruko was also a student of health food and nutrition and made sure she ate healthy, took her supplements and made green drinks. And she was also a healer. When Haruko worked people would come to her with their problems, whether it was a headache or heartache. She may give an aspirin or something for the tummy but she would hold the persons hands, sometimes massage the hands and send healing energy along with the healing words. People would always walk away feeling better. At the end of Harukos life she had Alzheimers and for her safety, since she was such a walker, she lived at Brookdale Senior Living, in the Memory so she couldn wander. Edward, her husband, went everyday to care for her.
