Obituary: Edsel David Hallock lived 87 wonderful years. Edsel preferred his middle name and went by David to all who knew him. David enjoyed his independent life, living his final years at Redwood Terrace in Escondido, California. He passed away peacefully on 2, 2015 at Redwood Terrace while under their loving care for complications after a stroke. David was born in Oxford, New York on 4, 1927. He was one of seven children born to Clyde and Cora Hallock. David was in the Army-Air Force during World War II and was stationed in the Kwajalein Atoll. While in the military, David worked on aircraft and aircraft engines. During his service he was awarded the American Defense Ribbon, Asiatic Theater Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. David attended college and worked as an administrator for LA Community . He retired early and started a new career or hobby fixing up and selling housing units. He spent much time traveling both in Europe and in Central America. David also loved to follow the stock market, researching and investing in various companies over the years. David is survived by his seven nieces and seven nephews who live throughout the United States. David was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, two nephews and one niece. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at Eternal Hills, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California on 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Contributions in honor of David may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or a charity of your choice. |

Obituary: Robert John Hallner, a senior at the University of San Diego (USD) died on 16, 2010 in Carlsbad, California. He was twenty-three years old. Born on 6, 1987 in Carlsbad, Rob was the son of Virginia and Eugene Hallner. He went to La Costa Heights elementary school, Oak Crest Middle School and graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in 2006. Rob studied accounting at the University of San Diego. Rob was an avid surfer having spent hours in the water at Swamis, D Street and Ponto, and was equally passionate about snowboarding with Big Bear and Mammoth being his two home mountains. Rob was also a budding entrepreneur having created a start-up clothing line for surfers featuring custom t-shirt designs that were sold online and at local events. Rob travelled extensively throughout Europe and South America as part of the American Field Service Program, and was an exchange student in Chile in 2005. Surviving relatives include brother Timothy Hallner (26), sister Lauren (16), and foreign exchange sisters Silvia Piran of Milan, Italy and Hanna Schachel of Berlin, Germany. Other surviving relatives: Louise Costa, Balboa Island and Susan DeSantis, Newport Coast; Robert and Kari DeSantis of Midlothian, Virginia and Stephen and Kris DeSantis, Ladera Ranch, California; Nicolas and Steven DeSantis; Delaney, Grace, and Mia DeSantis; Greg Weekley; Jeff and Luke Lombardo. Memorial Services will be held on , 20, 2010 at the Christ Presbyterian Church on 7807 Centella Street in Carlsbad at 1:00 PM. to be immediately followed by a reception at the Church. A second private Memorial Service will be held on , 21, 2010 at 10 AM at the St. John Vienney Catholic Church on Balboa Island, followed by internment at Pacific View Mortuary in Newport Beach. Obituary: Kenneth Lee Hallmeyer was born in Tacoma, WA on 9, 1929 to Joseph Francis Hallmeyer and Maud Pattee Hallmeyer. He grew up in Washington and Oregon and attended Benson Polytechnic High School. Ken served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, convincing is mother that he was old enough to enlist at age 17. His unit was stationed on several Pacific islands. his service, he eventually came to Californias central valley, where he met his wife, Annabelle Thomas of McFarland. settled in Visalia and raised three children: Nancy, Joe and Donna. As a new husband and father, ken worked for the Bureau of Water Reclamation on the early stages of CA Aqueduct. He joined Art Snell Engineering, which later became Zimmerman Engineering, working on the development of subdivisions in Visalia as well as the beginnings of the Visalia Mall. Ken was a bus driver for other Visalia Unified School District and Orange Belt Stages. He owned and operated Kens Stake and Supply for many years, starting the business in his garage in1968, eventually moving the mill to Road 152 and the office to Lovers Lane. He trained many young men in the business of learning to work hard while leveling most of the west side of this beautiful central valley. The stake business was eventually sold to his son, Joe, now employing the third generation of Hallmeyers in the production of nursery and survey stakes distributed in CA, NV, AZ and HI. Ken also owned a shop in downtown Visalia selling Hydrocal products named, Village of Plaques. He was a regular at Sambos Coffee Shop in downtown Visalia until its closing. the death of his wife, Annabelle, Ken married Eudora Newby Locey; together they raised his three children and her two children, Gloria and Ron Locey. Ken and Eudora enjoyed square dancing with a group in Visalia. Never one to fully retire, Ken became a lind man, placing many blinds in homes in Visalia and surrounding areas. Working as an inspector in mobile home parks, Ken found a place and settled in Hemet, CA. There found a new hobby \ weaving \ and soon he was a partner in a weaving and spinning supply shop, He was a popular caller several nights a week at local BINGO games and was the President of the local fraternal organization, Knights of the Round Table. Through this group, he was able to help young people venturing out into small business. Ken returned to Visalia, residing at Magnolia Park Assisted Living for the last few weeks before he died on 30, 2014. The care and comfort he received there will not be forgotten by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Maud Hallmeyer, sisters Esther Bass and Dorothy Gotthardt, wife Annabelle Thomas Hallmeyer. He is survived by Nancy Hallmeyer Clarke (Ken) of Fernley, NV, Joe Hallmeyer (Barbara) Hallmeyer of Woodlake, and Donna Hallmeyer Wiese (Dan) of Rancho Cordova, CA; Eudora and Gloria Locey and Ron Locey (Christine) of Visalia. In addition, Ken is survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Ken was known and cared about by many people.
