Obituary: Dortha (Dot) Hutcherson, 87, passed away , 11, 2015 at her home in Soddy Daisy. She was born Dortha Jean Angel and raised in Pikeville, TN, the oldest child of Oza and Corda Mae Angel. She attended school in Bledsoe and then studied nursing in Philadelphia and Knoxville, graduating with a nursing degree from Fort Sanders Hospital Training School. Dot married Joe Ben Hutcherson, Jr. in 1950 and they settled in the Red Bank - Hixson area where they raised their two sons and were active in the community. Her life was one of Christian service, living out her faith by caring for others in her personal life and in her career. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving in the past as a School teacher, and a long-time member of the Phyllis Baker School class. During her nursing career she worked in public health, as a shift nurse at DuPont, as a school nurse, and as coordinator of health services for the Hamilton school system. She served as DuPont Elementary PTA president, Red Bank Lioness Club president, and received the Chattanooga-Hamilton Chapter of American Red Cross recognition for dedicated community service to safety, nursing and youth. She will always be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family. Her other joys in life through the years were growing flowers and keeping a watchful eye on the backyard birds. Even though dealing with disabilities for the past many years, she maintained her spirit with the unwavering support and loving care of her husband, Joe Ben. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Angel. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Joe Ben Hutcherson, Jr., and two sons and their spouses, Joe and Karen Hutcherson and Donnie and Lisa Hutcherson. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Hobbs, Michael (Liz) Hutcherson, Zach (Rachel) Hutcherson, Nick Hutcherson and two great-grandchildren, Anslee Hobbs and Emery Hobbs. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Roberson, of Pikeville and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on , 13, 2015 from 3-6 pm at Chattanooga -North Chapel and on , 14 from 1-3 pm. services for Dot will be conducted at 3 pm on , 14 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Fred Steelman officating. Obituary: Roy Cain Hutchens, 69, passed away suddenly on May 28th, 2016. He believed in the New Testament of Jesus Christ’s teachings. He graduated in 1965 from Carter High School where he played football. He was a very talented athlete and business man, Roy started working in the insurance business in his early 20’s for Independent Life Insurance and Allstate. At the age of 28, he successfully started Hutchens and Hutchens Insurers in Knoxville. He started working in real estate in 1977 and became a licensed broker in 1978. He mentored several real estate agents during his career. Roy successfully started RC Hutchens Realty Inc. with offices in Knoxville and Chattanooga. He was well respected in the business community by both sellers and buyers. Roy had many intellectual interests that included an in-depth knowledge of history and the ability to art, drawings, music, and much more. Roy was a wonderful friend to many and a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Preceded in death by his father, Roy Cain, sister, Evelyn Ann Cain, brother Gary Cain, Father James Hutchens, mother Irene Hutchens, and stepdaughter, Libby Cagle Lowe. Roy is survived by his companion and friend, Anne Cagle, son, Roy S. (Elaine) Hutchens, grandchildren, Colby Hutchens, Ben and Sarah Fraker, one sister and three brothers, several nieces and nephews, and one stepdaughter, Stacey Fraker. The family will be receiving friends and family on , 3rd 5-7 pm at Berry Highland Memorial. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Obituary: Hutchens, Faymer Rhea, Jr. - 79, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, , 7, 2014 after a long struggle with health issues. Faymer was surrounded by family & friends when he passed at Ben Atchley State Veterans . He was loved by all that knew him and was a staff favorite at Ben Atchley. His warm heart, firm handshake, and mischievous grin made him a welcome guest near and far. When he wasn't working he was usually in the mountains hunting. He was an expert outdoorsman and particularly loved to hunt bear & boar. His hunting excellence was recognized by Southern Outdoors Magazine in 1990 when they did a feature article about him. He was still winning awards for his rifle marksmanship even while residing at Ben Atchley. Faymers hunting adventures took him from Louisiana to Canada, but his home away from home was nearby in the North River area of Tellico. He was one of the first to organize a party hunt in Tellico and he continued to do so for 50 years. He graduated from Young High School and attended the University of Tennessee until he was drafted into the Navy where he was assigned to the U.S.S. Saratoga. He married Patsy Clark in 1964. He was the proud father of 6 daughters and 1 son, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. his service in the Navy, he started his own excavating business, worked with Waste Management, and finished his career with the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation as a blasting specialist. Preceded in death by mother and father, Faymer and Della Hutchens, Sr.; and son, Tommy Ogle, and Tommys mother, Jean Ogle Hutchens. Faymer is survived by his wife of 50 years Patsy Clark Hutchens; sister, Charlotte Weigel; brother, Biddle Hutchens; daughters, Kim Beets, Tammy Tipton (Greg), Robin Maddux (Mike), Cindy Ogle, Kelli Sexton (Scott) and Katrina Shelton (Jeff); grandchildren, Kacey Wright Kiste (Tyler), Rheagan, Dillon & Ashlyn Sexton, Colby & Peyton Maddux, Landon Wright, Bryson & Bailey Shelton, Thomas Ogle & great grandchild Trey Ogle. He also leaves behind a friend forever, Cowboy and his buddy for life, Mike Sizemore along with too many good ole boys to mention. The family will receive friends , 12, 2014 from 5-7pm at Berry on Chapman Highway. There will be a private funeral service. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and administration at Ben Atchley Veterans , his second home.
