Obituary: Vergeline Elizabeth Dud Holtzclaw, 89, passed away on , 2, 2014, in the Holston Valley Medical . Mrs. Holtzclaw was born on 10, 1925 in Waynesville, North Carolina the daughter of the late Albert Sutton and Maude Phillips Sutton. She was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Holtzclaw was a lifelong member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, where she taught ladies school and sang in the choir. Mrs. Holtzclaw was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Doyle Holtzclaw; one daughter, Gloria Collins and one sister, Ivalee Mynheir. Survivors include one daughter, Louana Lou Thornburg, of Kingsport, TN; one son, Randy Holtzclaw and wife Doris, of Knoxville, TN; one son-in-law, Wayne Collins, of Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren, Laura Kerney, of Kingsport, TN, Jennifer Vaughn, of Zebulon, NC, Melissa Phillips and husband Mark, of Kingsport, TN, Kevin Collins and wife Cindy, of Kingsport, TN, Janet Henderson, of Smyrna, TN, Alec Holtzclaw, of Maryville, TN, and Jens Holtzclaw, of Maryville, TN; eight great grandchildren, Jessica Kerney, Christopher Phillips, Scott Kerney, Kristin Henderson, Lacy Odom, Josh Vaughn, Sara Henderson, and Tiffany Vaughn; six great-great grandchildren; and two nieces, Kim DeWeese and Linda DeWeese. Obituary: Anastasia Fina Portal Holtzclaw, 82, went to be with the Lord on evening ( 13, 2017) at her home surrounded by her loving family. Anastasia was born in Havana, Cuba and lived most of her life in East Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Holtzclaw; mother, Eduarda Hurtado of Miami; father, Ernesto Portal Comas of Cuba; and sisters, Delfa Benita Evans of Miami and Francisca Protal Ruiz of Tampa. Anastasia is survived by her loving daughter, Delfa Michelle Holtzclaw Caldwell of Kingsport; brother, Abraham Oliva of Miami; sisters, Adminda Vergara of Key West and Maria Margarita Echenique of Cuba; four grandchildren, Katie Caldwell Everhart & husband Charlie of Church Hill, Cody and Cameron Caldwell of Church Hill, and Kayci Caldwell of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
