Obituary: DONNA JOHNSON HALL, 69, of Harriman, Tennessee went to Heaven suddenly on 10, 2014. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She provided her family with never-ending encouragement, unselfish love, and unfailing guidance and worked to spread the light and love of Jesus to everyone. Donna was Richard A. Halls wife and sweetheart for 48-years. In addition to the dedication she had to her husband and family, she had a life-long dedication of ministry to her friends and community. Together and individually, Richard and Donna were ministers without pulpits. In recent years, social media became a platform for Donnas ministry activities, where she often lent words of encouragement, advice, prayers, or a simple verse of scripture to countless others who were experiencing lifes joys and struggles. The dining room table was also a central point in her ministry, as she and Richard often hosted pastors, missionaries, families, friends, musicians, new church members, and – sometimes – total strangers. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Hall (Harriman, TN), five children, seven grandchildren, a niece and two nephews, and countless friends and acquaintances. Her children include Donnie Hall (Nashville, TN), Daryl Hall (Knoxville, TN), Richard Chip Hall and his wife Cheri (Oak Ridge, TN), Sarah Beth Thacker and her husband Allen (Oliver Springs, TN), and Rebecca Knaebel and her husband Christopher (York, PA). Grandchildren include Chelsey Hall, Mary Beth Thacker, Lauren Hall, Timothy Thacker, Josiah Hall, Ezra Hall, and Elliot Knaebel. She anxiously awaited the arrival of another Knaebel grandchild next month. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald A. and Myrtle H. Johnson, and her sister, Eleanor J. Lilly, all of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a member of Trenton Street Baptist Church where she had been a school teacher, Bible study leader, and mentor. A Going Celebration is planned for 10 a.m. , 14, 2014 at Trenton Street Baptist Church in Harriman, TN. The family will spend time greeting guests at the conclusion of the celebration. In life, Donna often invited people to just drop in their house for a visit. She had requested that her friends have an opportunity to drop in and pay respects. An informal drop in will be held at the Hall home at 526 Clinton Street on evening, 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Street parking is limited. Additional parking is available in the nearby parking lots of Trenton Street Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church. The family will hold a private internment service. Obituary: Donald was born 1,1933 in Memphis, TN, died 30, 2017 in Memphis surrounded by his family. Donald, Grandaddy, put everyone before himself his entire life. He was stubborn and insisted on doing things his way. Grandaddy showed everyone what it means to love a woman for a lifetime. Don worked in various professions throughout his lifetime most recently retiring from the flooring industry. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading, staying up late, and most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Cubie Hall. He was a sincere and caring father and grandfather and is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jamie Sue Davis Hall of Memphis, his children Donald E. Hall, Jr. of Collierville, Susan Hall Tilton and Virginia Hall Smither both of Memphis, grandchildren Stephanie Tilton Lane of Charleston, S.C., Jennifer Hall Allen of Little Rock, A.R., James T. Tilton, II of Bixby, O.K., and Andrew L. Tilton of Memphis, great-grandchildren McKinley and Maci Tilton of Bixby and Henry Lane of Charleston. He also leaves his siblings Tommy Jean King and Ted M. Hall of Piperton, TN. The family will receive friends afternoon, 3 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Memphis , Poplar Avenue with the service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. |

Obituary: Dennis Howard Hall, 83, of Dayton, went to be with his Lord, 30, 2015 at home with his family. He was born 8, 1931 in Evensville, TN to the late Roscoe James and Elsie Dagley Hall. He was preceded in death by four brothers: J. L., Kenneth, Carlos, and Curtis Hall. Dennis was a member of Rechoboth Baptist Church and a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1950. He was a 1969 charter member of Berean Baptist Church of Hixson and a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church of Graysville. He was employed at Oak Ridge Nuclear Plant, Goodyear Atomic in Waverly, OH, and retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga. Dennis was involved in several successful businesses over the years. While living in Portsmouth, OH, from 1956 to 1966 he founded a Christian Bookstore. He was co-owner of Modern Way Cleaners and Laundry in Dayton from 1971 to 1984. He was currently the owner and operator of City Quick Wash in Dayton since 1993. He was a long time season ticket holder and avid supporter of the University of Tennessee football and he loved to discuss politics. He annually contributed to the Bibles given to new firefighters in Gallatin, TN. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed visiting with the many friends he made and the loyal customers he served over the years. Dennis is survived by his wife Lois, and his four children, son Steve and his wife Amanda Hall and their son Zachary of Hixson, son Scott and Glenda Hall and their children Lauren and Garrett of Dayton, son Mark and Mindy Hall and their children Jordan and Emily of Gallatin, TN, and daughter Jennifer and her husband Kevin Bishop and their children Jake, Taylor, and Kaleb of Knoxville, TN. Dennis is also survived by two brothers, Bill Hall of East Leroy, MI, and Don Hall of Battle Creek, MI, and two sisters, Helen and her husband Joe Payne of Athens, MI, and Judy Messenger of Athens, MI. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include grandsons Zach Hall, Jordan Hall, Jake Bishop, Garrett Hall, and Kaleb Bishop, and nephew Dave Keylon. |
