Obituary: Ralph Martin Tad Hendricks, 86, of Charleston, SC, widower of Margaret Bowers Peggy Hendricks, entered into eternal rest , 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held , 21, 2015, in Magnolia , 70 Cunnington Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Tad was born 8, 1929, in Charlotte, NC, son of the late Margaret Newman and Ralph Martin Hendricks. Amongst his many accomplishments, he honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of The Citadel and received a Masters degree from the University of Virginia. This led Tad to a career in paper manufacturing at West Virginia Pulp and Paper (Westvaco), where he served as manager of Industrial and Community Relations. He was a member of St. Philips Church, St. Andrews Society, the South Carolina Society, the Agricultural Society of South Carolina, the Carolina Yacht Club, and the Charleston Club. Tad was very active in the Charleston community and joyfully served on numerous civic and corporate boards and foundations including serving as chairman of the board of the South Carolina State Ports Authority, past president of the Charleston Trident Chamber of Commerce, and was one of the first five lay member trustees of St. Francis Xavier Hospital and a trustee of Roper Hospital. He is survived by his three daughters, Lynn Hills (John), Anne Crawford (Lex), and Buie Shisko (Joe), all of Charleston and two sons, Theodore M. Hendricks (Brucie) of Mt. Pleasant, and Ralph M. Hendricks Jr. (Jennifer) of Charleston. Tad felt, one of his lifes greatest accomplishments was his family. Affectionately known as Ta, he is survived by fourteen grandchildren: Thomas Hutto (Lindsay), Eliza Cantwell (Josh), Brucie Smith (Jacob), Teddy Hendricks, Mary Guerry (Glynn), Torrey Crawford, Spencer Crawford, Anne Merrill Crawford, McEachern Hendricks, Lawton Hendricks, Sarah Bryce (Mike), Joseph Shisko Jr., Seabrook Shisko (Marghretta), and McKinnon Shisko; and five great-grandchildren: Bowers, Ellis, Thomas, Sophie, and Ella; and his dependable and ever faithful Trisha. And also his sister-in-law, Betty Boswell; niece, Ellen, and nephew, Malcom. |

Born in Richland , South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Addie Coker Gaskin. Surviving are her six sons; Allen Hendricks (Miriam), Tallie Hendricks (Cindy), Robert Hendricks, Jock Hendricks (Tammy), Raymond Hendricks, and Michael Hendricks (Tina); five daughters, Lyle Jacks (Barry), Melissa Hendricks, Cindy Benson (David), Betsy Hendricks, and Louise Lesley; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Hendricks was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, a son, Shane Hendricks, and one brother, Benjamin Gaskin. Obituary: Mildred Seaborn Hendricks Six Mile, South Carolina Mildred Seaborn Hendricks, age 81, wife of the late Lloyd Benjamin Hendricks went to be with the Lord 18, 2015 at Cottingham Hospice House. Mrs. Hendricks was born in Pickens the daughter of the late Irene Cantrell Seaborn and J.W. Seaborn. Mrs. Hendricks was a member of Gap Hill Baptist Church. At the passing of her husband, they were happily married for sixty four years. She loved and cherished her family with all her heart. Survivors include one son; Michael “Rusty” Hendricks and wife Krystal of Six Mile, one brother; Joe Seaborn of Six Mile and grandson Kyle Hendricks of Spartanburg, SC Mrs. Hendricks was predeceased by her husband, parents and one brother James Lewis “J.L.” Seaborn. A memorial service will be held 3:00pm 22, 2015 at Dillard Chapel with visitation to following the service. Obituary: Luther Malcolm Hendricks, age 94, of Charlotte, NC (his hometown was Greenville, SC until 2012), passed away peacefully 10, 2014, at his home at Regency Retirement Village. He was born on 13, 1920, Greer, SC to Archie Ormeadus Hendricks and Jasie Ella Hadden Hendricks. His parents, brothers, (James Overton Hendricks, Hubert Wilburn Hendricks & Thomas Arches Hendrix) and sisters (Mary Lucille Nee and Chrystalle Cornelia Lee) preceded him in death. Survivors include his nephews and nieces: Hubert W. Hendricks Jr. of LaPlata, MD, Joel and wife Linda Hendrix of Billings, MT, Connie and husband Gene Buccelli of Charlotte, NC, and Carol Lee Sandall of Chesapeake Beach, MD. He married the late Mary Rowley deSaussure Hendricks who preceded him in death (12/10/10). He and his loving wife were married for 64 years. He is a WWII Army veteran serving both in the South Pacific/Philippines and New Caledonia (near Australia). He headed up computer tracking of military assignments for the Army. He is a retired senior executive with Liberty Life Insurance, now Athene, (where he also directed the computer services) in Greenville, SC. He retired in 1985 after 35 years. Malcolm was an excellent senior golfer and also had two (2) holes in ones, played senior golf up until his late 80s and had a hobby of building and painting indoor bird houses. He had a wonderful exhibit of his bird houses in 2013 at the Regency.The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and administration at Regency Retirement Village, and Maria, a loving caretaker, and the Hospice staff, particularly Amanda, Tanya, and Chaplains-Becky and Jane. His family will receive friends on , 17, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Jeff Grant will officiate. Mr. Hendricks was born in Six Mile the son of the late J. B. Hendricks and Bertha Skelton Hendricks. Mr. Hendricks was a United States Army World War II Veteran, Anzio invasion, where he received the Combat infantryman Badge and Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, one son; Michael Aaron Hendricks and wife Krystal of Six Mile, four brothers; David Hendricks, Ray Hendricks, Bud Hendricks, Tom Hendricks, one sister; Maryann Hendricks, one grandson; Kyle Hendricks.
