Obituary: Julia A. Spencer Himes, 73, of Clearfield, passed away on , 19, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Himes was born on 24, 1937 in Clearfield, the daughter of Howard and Blanche (Read) Spencer. She was a 1955 graduate of Clearfield Area High School and a 1959 graduate of Eastern University with a BA in Sociology. Mrs. Himes had worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare for seven years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clearfield Presbyterian Church where she was active in the choir. Mrs. Himes was a volunteer for Marian House of Clearfield and was an active member of the Master Gardeners Club of Clearfield. She is survived by her husband, John C. Himes whom she married on 5, 1959, a daughter, Jennifer A. Himes Bush and her husband Eric of Clearfield, two grandsons; Johnathan and Matthew Bush and a brother, Rev. John Spencer of Clearfield. Mrs. Himes was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on , 25, 2010 at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Mellgard and Mr. Richard Barkley co-officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church on , 24, 2010 from 7-9 P.M. and on from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Church, 119 North 2nd Street, Clearfield, PA 16830. Obituary: George Henry Lewis Himes, Jr. 83, of Harrisburg, passed away 3, 2017, in Hershey Medical . He was born in Harrisburg 16. 1933 son of the late George H. and Harriett (Lontz) Himes Sr. He was a graduate of John Harris High School and attended Lycoming . He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Korean War. Prior to retirement he was employed with Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Himes in 1995, as well as two brothers, David and Donald Himes and two sisters, Wenda Beres and Karen Vajda. Survived by his children; Daniel Himes, of Enola and Connie Himes, her husband James Waters, of Hummelstown, 3 grandsons; James, Kyle and Lucas Waters and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be , 9, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Neill , 3501 Derry St. Harrisburg. will be conducted , 10, 2017 at 11:00 from Neill , with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
