Obituary: Robert Lee Hanneman 31, 1938 to 7, 2010 It is always hard to develop a short story on such a "big man" but here goes.... Starting out as someones dream.... Harland Harvey Hanneman and Viola Katherine Christianson wed and soon began "living their dream." had five children; Harland Jr., Leland, Bob, Lois Jean and Imogene. Harland was a meat inspector and Viola was a homemaker. Harland never missed a beat to teach Bob how to garden and fish. The biggest lesson in life came from his loving mother. She taught him to survive no matter what comes your way. God had chosen half of his family to be in heaven by the time he was 8 years old. However sad this may seem, his choice in life was to be strong and to survive, which is probably how he managed to beat the odds of Alzheimers as long as he did. Bob could best be known as a workaholic. He had worked all of his life. He had many jobs throughout high school and then went on to work at WW Grainger and Air Force National Guard. Bob then moved on to Coca Cola as a route salesman where he moved up to supervisor for 17 years. Bob went on to become a club co-owner starting out at Galleon Club, then Panama Reds, then last at a Casino Club. At this time, he switched career paths as he always said "The club business cost him his marriage to a good woman and a wonderful family and God blessed him with another family and he wasn going to make that mistake again." so he jumped at the opportunity to become a business owner of a different sort. He moved to Frederick and opened up Bobs Kuick Stop and Car Wash and Gladstone Package. Chef Bob was quite the cook. He as well known throughout southwest Oklahoma for having the best barbecue around. It even had a name, "Bob-E-Que." Bobs work was his passion and he lived following this passion until he retired in 2003. Bob was quite the outdoors man. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. It didn matter if he caught a small one or a big one, he just loved the outdoors. In earlier years, his gardening was flowers and vegetables while in latter years it was flowers and pots they came in. A mans best friend. Bobs great love for dogs started out as a child and continued throughout his life. It didn matter if they were big or small, few or many. He loved those dogs. Now, a little insight to Bob as a collector. McDonald toys were a huge favorite of his. Many have eaten Happy Meals so Bob could get his toys! He as also an avid Coca-Cola collector. The family thinks that he went into the cash businesses just so he could collect the coins he wanted. He even had a coin washing hopper to make viewing easier. He even restored a John Deere tractor- He couldn drive it, but he sure could admire his work! Working hard and playing hard were Bobs mottos. A trip to the Caribbean or a trip to the casino was his favorite spots. This was when he really let his hair down and was quite the "cut-up". Lets not forget that Bob was a Christian man. He was christened as a small child in the Lutheran church. Later, he was baptized in the First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and hosted many morning bible studies. He never lost god and prayed every day until his memory began to slip away. Bob was blessed with 2 wonderful families. One family was with his high school sweetheart, Colleen Snider. were married for 25 years and were blessed with 2 daughters, 2 sons in laws, 3 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; the oldest daughter Kalyn and her husband Mike Shaw, their two children Cari and Michael and their spouses Chris and Candice. Bob and Colleens youngest daughter Sharron and her husband We Francis and their son Wesley. Then there are the lovely great grandchildren; Braiden, Nathan, Dylan, Owen and the twins Nate and Jackson. His second family came when one of Bobs roommates, Kimo, introduced him to their next door neighbor, Kayla Bagwell Armentrout. It was love at first bite because he sure did love her steaks. From that moment on, they lived their lives together happy and forever in love. were married for 28 years. Kayla already had 3 children and they had 1 together. Her oldest Stephanie and her husband Greg Davis, their four children Rachel and her husband Rick Karn, Brittany, Clay (whom Bob always called Luther), and Garrett. Her second oldest, Sherri Walls and her son, Christian. Her son Scott Armentrout and his wife Kristen, their 3 children, Faythe, Lexy, and Jorden and their bun in the oven. Their youngest son, Ryan Hanneman and 1 great grandchild, Haidyn. Bobs combined family and friends were very dear to his heart. Many good times were shared. Many memories were made. He definitely was a rich man. Like I said, It is hard to tell a short story on such a BIG man. services will be 10:00 AM, , 9, 2010 at Sunny Lane Chapel with burial at Sunny Lane . |
