Obituary: Mary Sue Hames, 74, of Lexington passed away 1, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born 19, 1941 in Tribbey, OK to Isaac and Luta Bowerman she was one of 13 children. She attended Tribbey and Noble Schools and was a member of the church of Christ. She married Donald C. Hames on 18, 1958 in Norman. Mary loved working with the elderly. She retired from Griffin Memorial Hospital. She loved meeting with the ladies on mornings at Noble Church of Christ for Bible Study and going out on on the van with the ladies. She worked in the clothing house. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, planting flowers and working in the garden. She loved music but above all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Survivors include her husband of almost 58 years Donald; son: Donald Lee; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Billy Ray Hames and Charles Wayne Hames; and nine siblings. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. 3, 2016 at Primrose Service, 1109 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK. Service will be at 1:00 p.m. 4, 2016 at the Noble Church of Christ, 111 N Main St, Noble, OK 73068. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park and in Norman. The Rev. Ken Ellis will officiate. |

Obituary: Edgar A. Hamel, 79, of Edmond, OK died , 17, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK following a short illness. Ed was born on 4, 1930 in Templeton, MA to Leander and Margaret Gaudet. He graduated from Templeton High School and New Hampshire and also served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 he married Joan M. Langlois of Worcester, MA, and they made Manchester, NH their home in 1960. In 2001 he relocated to Edmond, OK.He was an active member of St. Johns Catholic Church and always enjoyed a good game of cribbage. Mr. Hamel is survived by his brother Rene Hamel of Apple Valley, CA; sisters Malvina McCusker and Margaret Villani of Gardner, MA; daughters, Lynn Pacetti of Edmond, OK, and Mo Demers of Epsom, NH; sons-in-law Bob Pacetti of Edmond, OK and Arthur Demers of Epsom, NH; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hamel was preceded in death by his wife, Joan.His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the Salvation Army. Memorial Services for Edgar will be 3:00 pm, , 21, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. |

Obituary: In loving memory of Ralph Edward Hamby. Born 29, 1920 in Welling, OK. Deceased 30, 2015 in Welling, OK at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 1 day. Ralph was the Son of James Jim and Mary Molly (Wortham) Hamby. Brother to Mary Hamby Clay, Floyd Hamby, Emma Hamby-Goodnight, Ray Hamby, and Glenn Hamby. Loving Husband, married to Elizabeth Ahnawake Betty Ann Keys, May 12, 1948 in Wagoner, OK. All preceding his death, awaiting to be reunited. Those left behind to cherish his memory forever are his four children, Caroline Wilkinson, James Hamby, Keith Hamby and wife Sharie, Brenda Holderbee and husband Freeman. All of whom gave Ralph twelve wonderful grandchildren and twenty precious great grandchildren. As a young man, Ralph loved and honored his mother and father. He soon joined the Army of the United States of America on 7, 1942 stationed with his company 495 Engineers, all overseas until 26, 1945, serving for WWII. Making his way back to Welling from overseas with an honorable discharge, Ralph sought employment as a rancher. During that time, he married the love of his life Betty Ann. began traveling, taking up construction/demolition work with his brothers, cousins and nephews. Becoming homesick from Welling and his family home, Ralph became a rancher for himself which later led to employment with Cherokee Co. District #3. Long after which he became a rancher for himself again, for he had a love for his Black Angus Cattle. During his lifetime of experiences, Ralph had seen and lived it all. He had a wonderful and fulfilling life with his enormous family of his beloved wife, grandparents, parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughter-in-laws, son-in-laws, his friends, all of whom he loved very much. Ralph was of Baptist faith, for which he took very serious. So educated by the bible, we all were so amazed how he could quote word for word any verse at any given time. Ralph was a loving and compassionate man who thrived on meeting new people and making friends wherever he may go. He loved his social life with his extended family, church and all the shopping centers and sale barns. For being the man Ralph was, he was rewarded in his final days of still having great DETERMINATION for which he was always in charge and control of his wishes, wants and needs. And still finding new friends for whom he would and his family would like to thank the Hospice of the Cherokees for their friendship, care and compassion. Thank you Lea, Amber, Laura, Keith, Jamie and Lindsay for you will never be forgotten. Ralph and his family would also like to acknowledge the continued friendship and fellowship so often, of longtime friend, Rev. Charles Duvall of Welling General Baptist Church. May God bless you!
