Obituary: Rufus Wade R. W. Holden, Sr., 85, of 3728 Tarheel Club Road, passed away , 26, 2015. He was born May 3, 1930 to the late Willie Columbus Holden and Mae Poole Holden. As long as his health permitted he was a crane operator with Carolina Crane. R.W. was a member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 pm, , 3, 2016 at L. Harold Poole Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service until 5:00 pm. He is survived by his sons: Willie Ray Holden (Deborah), James Stanford Holden (David), Jerry Holden (Lindy); grandchildren: Jennifer Piver, Christopher Holden, Rachel Holden (Brandon), Jericho Holden (Rebecca), and Casey Holden; three great-grandchildren; sister, Vannie Bunn; brother, Russell Holden (Jane); mother to Willie and James, Dorothy Tharrington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Faircloth Holden; sons, Rufus Wade Holden, Jr. and Joseph Shane Holden; and a grandson, Michael Wade Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions Life Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care and compassion given to Rufus and family via Transitions Life staff. |
