Obituary: William Bill Bonner Hall, Jr., age 83, died 25th, 2011, with family members by his side, and is now resting in our Heavenly Fathers arms. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., , 12th, 2011 at Hanes Lineberry , 515 North Elm Street in Greensboro. N.C. Born 5th, 1927, in Greensboro, North Carolina, he graduated from Grimsley High School in 1946. He earned his pilots license at the young age of 15, and volunteered later in life with the Civil Air Patrol. He studied music at Guilford and played the violin with Randolph Strings and the Greensboro Concert Orchestra. retiring from Weiman Furniture in 1995, he enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes as a hobby. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Watson; his father, William Bonner Hall, Sr.; and his sisters, Millicent Montague and Marjorie Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Guthrie (and husband Douglas), the mother of his sons, Sara Williams Hall, sons, Bill Hall (and wife Jacqueline) and Christopher Hall, and daughter, Sara Botts (and husband Henry). He also leaves his grandchildren, Joseph Rose, William Rose, Steven Guthrie, Terrance Smith, Desiree Hall, Blake Hall, Brooks Hall, Gabrielle Botts, Rebekah Botts, and 3 great grandchildren. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605. |

Obituary: Greensboro, NC- William E. (Bill) Hall, age 93, a native and well-known former resident of Boonville, NY, passed away on , 26, 2015. Bill was born in Boonville, on 21, 1921, a son of Gary and Lulu (Marcy) Hall. He graduated from Boonville High School, and then served in WWII until his honorable discharge in , 1946, as an Air Force Sergeant. On 26, 1948, he married Geraldine Iseneker in Boonville, NY. enjoyed a very happy marriage for 68 years with many, many wonderful memories. Bill worked for his father as a carpenter and painter. He was also a substitute mail carrier until , 1948, when he joined R.F. Sasenbery at Sasenberys Clothing Store, located on Schuyler St. in downtown Boonville. In 1952, he purchased the business, which became Halls Clothing Store, until 1979, when he retired. He was temporary Postmaster for two years. Mr. Hall served on the Village Board as acting Mayor in 1961 and was elected as Boonville Mayor from 1962 to 1968. He was also a Little League coach and Masonic Lodge member. From 1979-2011, the couple divided their residence between Boonville, NY and Greensboro, NC. In 2011, they became permanent residents of Greensboro, NC. Bill will be remembered as a great athlete, winning trophies in baseball, softball, basketball, tennis and bowling. At the age of 52, he took up golf and won more trophies. He also had a hole in one on four different courses. He said given time all these trophies will be trashed and the only item of value is eternity in heaven which everyone who follows Gods guidelines can attain. He will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Boonville Baptist Church, along with Guilford Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jerry; daughter Hilda Hall; son Larry Hall (wife Anne); grandchildren, William G. Hall ( wife Angela and great grandsons, Cooper and Hudson); David G. Hall (wife Kaylee), Kathy Hall, and Erica Farley (Husband Luke); sister, Jane Blakeslee, (Utica, NY); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family is honoring his request of no calling hours. There will be a service held at Guilford Baptist Church on , 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Memorials may be made to the Boonville Baptist Church 325 Post Street, Boonville, NY 13309. |
