Obituary: Wanda May Waterman Haines passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on , 12 , 2011. She was at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC following a rapid decline in health. Mrs. Haines was the daughter of the late Christian and Emma Hause Waterman. She was born on May 19, 1930 in Wannamaker, Indiana. Mrs. Haines was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church for 17 years. She taught school, sang in the choir and was a member of the St. Priscilla Circle. Mrs. Haines was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Her entire family attended the first service at Messiah where she also sang in the choir, was an Altar Guild member and a member of the Lutheran Braille Workers branch. Mrs. Haines loved God, her family and her friends. She felt God gave her the talent of being a good listener. People would call her to pray for them and share their problems. Mrs. Haines loved gardening, walking, boating and reading. She married the love of her life, the late Charles Boyd Haines in , 1957. Wanda developed a love of motorcycling with her husband and enjoyed telling others how she went on her first date with him on a motorcycle. Mrs. Haines was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, brothers Cecil and Lester Waterman; a sister, Armeda a nephew, Darryle Spaulding. She is survived by her daughters Melanie Haines Weatherman (Shawn Michael) of Winston-Salem, NC and Anna Haines Denson (Joe Roland, Jr.) and a son, Charles Fredrich Haines (Melinda) of West Palm Beach, FL. Mrs. Haines was very proud of her six grandchildren Joshua Weatherman of Chapel Hill NC, Leah Weatherman of Boone, NC, Joanna and Geoffrey Denson of Charlotte, NC, Breana Haines of Tallahassee, FL and Brayden Haines of West Palm Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 8300 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC 28277 or to the Summer Camp Kitchen Fund at Laurel Ridge Moravian Camp and Conference , 124 Pendry Dr., Laurel Springs, NC 28644. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Forsyth Medical for their care of Mrs. Haines this past month. Thank you also to the doctors and staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House for their care and support the last few days of Mrs. Haines life. We will be forever grateful! There will be a reception of friends at New Philadelphia Moravian Church in Winston-Salem from 6pm - 8pm on , 18. services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Charlotte on , 19 at 1:00 PM with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. |

Obituary: Steven Douglas Steve Haines, 71, of Lake Royale passed away , 28, 2015. He was born 20, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Herman Harold Haines and Helen Virginia Waddell Young. For many years he was a self-employed contractor, specializing in many areas of construction. retirement, Steve went to work with Monroe-Wallace Law Group as a Project Manager. As long as his health permitted, he was an active member of Vision Baptist Church. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, , 4, 2015 at Vision Baptist Church, 7633 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh, 27616 with Dr. Alfred Wright officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. Surviving: wife, Ann B. Haines; children: Shannon Nipper of Lake Royale, Chris Pratt (Mandy) of Sanford; grandchildren: Rhiannon Merchant, Shay Merchant (Anna), Lily Grace Pratt; sisters: Bonnie Woodward (Dan) of Anthem, AZ, Kim Shore (Charlie) of Winston Salem, Amy Jones (Andy) of Mocksville; brother-in-law, Norman Brogden and lots of special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Gene Young and sister, Sherie Brogden. Obituary: Grant William Haines, 57, of Knightdale, NC, was called to heaven on 2, 2015. He was born 29, 1958 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and entered the United States Army at the age of 20. serving 8 years as a Sergeant in the Army he moved to North Carolina where he spent the remaining part of his life living in the Knightdale/Wendell area. He had a lifelong passion for family, friends, bald eagles and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He worked at Kelloggs as a mechanic for over 21 years where he developed lifelong friends and coworkers. He will be remembered for his quiet smile, his soft spoken humor, his Harley Davidson t-shirts, his devotion to family, his unyielding friendship to all as well as his faith in God. He was happiest riding with loved ones and friends, so ride free now, amongst the angels in heaven. Grant is survived by his wife, Tracy Haines; mother and father, Sally and Frank Haines; brother, Craig Haines; two daughters, Shannon Haines and Amy Haines Bryant; step-daughter, Ashley Gillis; grand-children, Payton Bryant, Taniya Thames and Nathan Thames; father-in-law, Jesse Gillis; and special friends that became family, Heath Woods, Dana Gorman, Destiny Woods, and Xzavier Woods. Although your time with us was cut short, we were all blessed and better people for having you in our lives. You will always be loved and never forgotten. A viewing will be held on , 6, 2015, from 11am-12pm with services immediately following at 12pm at Mitchell , 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612.
