Obituary: Alexis, A man of God, first and foremost was the character of David Jasper Hager, age 87, of Alexis, North Carolina passed away , 23, 2015 at the Lincoln Rehabilitation , Lincolnton, North Carolina. Mr. Hager was many things to include being a master craftsman, brick mason, pilot of search and rescue missions, loved to race dirt bikes, a founding member of the Masonic Lodge #713, Stanley, North Carolina where he received his 50 year membership as a Master Mason. David also served our nation proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a man who loved his family greatly. Those left behind to cherish his memories and many accomplishments are his wife of 18 years, Beverly Hager; daughter: Beth Mason (Don Rudisill) of Denver, North Carolina; sons: Byron Hager (Cathy) Rock Hill, South Carolina, Steve Hager (Tracy) Lincolnton, North Carolina, Timothy Hager, Alexis, North Carolina, Jody Hager (Patty), Conover, North Carolina; step daughters: Karen Martin (Curtis) Ronda, North Carolina and Terry Gilliland (Gene) Mooresville, North Carolina; sister: Kathleen Powell of Jacksonville, Florida. Fifteen beautiful grandchildren and eleven beautiful great grandchildren are left to carry on Mr. Hagers heritage. Masonic Rites will be delivered and a ceremony celebrating the life and memories of Mr. Hager will be conducted at 4:00 pm , 28, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexis, North Carolina with Reverend Greg Hager to officiate and Tim Hager to deliver the eulogy. Active pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge # 713, Stanley, North Carolina. Davids family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm , 28, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Alexis, North Carolina. Mr. Hager will be laid to rest and a committal ceremony will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church . Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2151 Mt.
