Obituary: David Brian Hafner, born 17, 1958, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Clayton, NC on 21, 2017. David was the son of the late Helen Victoria (nee Kaminski) and George Charles Hafner of North Springfield, Virginia, where he was raised. He is survived by his brothers Jack Hafner of Chantilly, VA, Gregory Hafner of Annandale, VA, and Thaddeus (Todd) Hafner of Fairfax, VA, and their families. He also leaves behind a host of other family, friends, and relatives. David attended James Madison University, and vocational school, where he was trained as a HVAC mechanic. This training served him well, as he could always find employment in that field, no matter the location. In recent years, he went from field work to teaching HVAC technicians at a local college. We called him Professor. He was a wanderlust, and enjoyed traveling and living in various areas. His travels took him from Virginia to New England, Washington State, Maryland, and eventually his final home in North Carolina. In addition, David loved the outdoors. He was an avid camper, fisherman, and a boater. He was also a big dog lover, owning numerous ones throughout his life. Obituary: Rebecca Lynn Haenel, 53, passed away , 24, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Rebecca was born in Willoughby, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late James Haenel and Antoinette (Ondis) Haenel and grew up in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. She graduated from Grove City and Ohio State University. She was happiest teaching and put substantial time and effort into her classroom. teaching in Fayetteville, NC, and Las Vegas, NV, she settled at Wakelon Elementary in Zebulon, where she taught for over eight years and made many close friends. Her passions outside of teaching were reading and writing, travel, and photography, and she was a life-long fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. Rebecca is survived by her brother Greg and his wife Shannon of Graham, NC; brother David and his wife Jacque, nephews Nicholas and Thomas and niece Elizabeth, all of Summerfield, NC; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on , 6, 2016 at Brown-Wynne , 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Obituary: Charlotte - Orman R. Haeberle passed away at the age of 90 on 31, 2013 after a short illness and stay at the Harris Hospice at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Haeberle was born on 14, 1923 to the late George and Mary Haeberle in Milwaukee, WI. completing high school, he served in World War II in Pattons Third Army; he was awarded a Purple Heart after being seriously wounded in fighting in western Germany. In 1950, Orman married Christie Yohanna Kalmeyer of Charlotte. stints in Oklahoma City and Milwaukee, the Haeberles moved to Charlotte permanently in 1952. Mr. Haeberle was employed by the Stetson Hat for most of his career. He retired in 1988. Following his retirement, Mr. Haeberle enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, participating in supper clubs, and taking long walks with friends. He was a Mason and a member of the Mens Apparel Club. Mr. Haeberle is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Christie Haeberle; sisters, Evelyn Schlagaer and Ruth Lawrence; and brother, Eugene Haeberle. He is survived by his sons, Orman Haeberle, Jr. of Charlotte, and Kevin Haeberle and his wife Sandra of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Dawn Krouse and husband Michael of Atlanta, GA; and granddaughters, Katherine and Ilyssa Krouse of Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Jewish /Respiratory , 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO 80206. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. , Jan. 2, 2014 at Harry and Bryant . services will be private for the family. |
