Obituary: Mrs. Theresa Tessie M. (Fisher-Vanderwall) Holmstrom of Pentwater, age 85, passed away on , 21, 2014. She was born in Pentwater Michigan on 28, 1929 to Glenn A. and Gladys V. (Brandel) Fisher and was a resident of the Pentwater and Muskegon area. Tessie was a teacher for the Reeths-Puffer Public School District and the Muskegon Heights Public School District before retiring in 1986. Tessie loved Pentwater and after retiring she was elected to the Pentwater Village Council for a few years. She loved having her family visit her at Pentwater, working in her flower gardens, crocheting, doing word searches, and going to the casino. She was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs. She is survived by her three children: Beth (Robert) Marine of Muskegon, James (Beth) Vanderwall of Grand Rapids, Sue (Wayne) Cypert of Margate, Florida; six grandchildren: Lee (Jamie) Marine, Kelly (Kevin) Bouwman, Jonathan Vanderwall, Jennifer (Kevin) Dearnley, Andrew Vanderwall, and Travis Cypert; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Patsy Woller of Montague and Linda Ackley of Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nancy Kiefer. A celebration of her life will be held in Pentwater in the summer of 2015. Inurnment will be in Pentwater Township . Obituary: Donald C. Holmi, 65, of Gwinn died afternoon, 26, 2017 at UP System Marquette. He was born 2, 1951 in Ishpeming, a son of the late Emil and Irene (Pelkie) Holmi. On 4, 1969 he married Sharlene St. Aubin at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn. The couple had made their home in Illinois for 30 years prior to returning to Gwinn a few years ago. Donald had been employed as a generator specialist. He had worked on the road for 45 years with the last 25 in the employment of MD&A. His interests included hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sharlene Holmi of Gwinn; children, Kendra Holmi of Sycamore, IL and Brian Holmi of Rockford, IL; a granddaughter, Ashley VanAcker of Sycamore, IL; siblings, Alice (Tommy) Anderson of Negaunee, Sharon Tincknell of Negaunee, Fred (Faye) Holmi and Mickey Holmi, both of Gwinn; and a sister-in-law, Rosalee Holmi of Germantown, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Holmi and a brother-in-law, Jerry Tincknell. Obituary: Thomas J. Holmgren, age 72, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully , 7, 2017 at home. He was born on 26, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Earl J. Ardis and Mary W. Holmgren (Ardis). Leaving high school he joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He married Melva Mullins in 1967 and she is the mother of his son, Thomas J. Holmgren, Jr. That marriage ended in divorce. Tom was an avid motorcyclist and loved restoring cars and trucks; and and traveling. His most recent travels included Jamaica and the Grand Canyon. The Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan was his favorite location. Thomas is survived by a son Thomas J. Holmgren and Jeffrey Meeker of Aurora, Illinois, a sister Karen M. Folk (Paul) of Palmyra, PA, two half-brothers, Carl B. Holmgren Jr. of Charlotte MI and Ronald E. Ardis of Hawaii, and a half-sister Mavis Ardis of Marshall, MI. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents, Earl J. and Mary W. Ardis, a sister Theresa May Ardis, and half-brother William Charles Holmgren.
