Obituary: Spencer Ethan Hale (1999-2016). Our dear sweet Spencer tragically left us in the early morning hours of 3rd 2016, having endured more than most can imagine. We are completely saddened by his loss, but we are grateful for the end to his suffering. His courage and grace were a testament to the strong man he had become. He was a generous, sweet, funny, loving true friend and above all very brave. Childhood cancer is an insidious disease that no family should face. Spencer was truly blessed to have his parents Denise and Steven Hale caring for him every day. He was the light in the lives of his grandparents, Jack and Darlene Rooney and to be met in heaven by the late Billie and Zelma Hale. He was the special nephew to Rikki and Rick Gross and Laurel and Raymond Nadolski. He was a fun loving cousin to Tye, Lia, Brittany, Cullen and Raymond, Jr. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm on , 9, 2016 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son , 3295 E. Obituary: Phyllis J. Hale, 89, of Port Huron Township, died , 30, 2016. She was born 27, 1927 in Port Huron to the late Robert and Ella Genaw. She married Cameron Hale on 7, 1947 in Port Huron. He died 8, 2006. Mrs. Hale worked for Michigan National Bank prior to retirement. She was a longtime member and past president of Port Huron Lionesses, a member of the Elks, and enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, camping, fishing, especially fly fishing, and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana. She is survived by three sons, Cameron Hale, Brian (Jill) Hale and Todd (Sona) Hale; four grandchildren, Brandon (Holly) Hale, Nicole Hale and fiancé Nick Mcnamar, Jason and Eric Hale; great granddaughter, Aria Hale; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Pollock-Randall . Mrs. Hale will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. on , 4, 2016 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Salvatore Palazzolo will officiate. Obituary: Patricia Patti Talik Hale, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2017. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Belle Talik, Patti attended Guardian Angel Elementary School and Dominican High School. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Patti met Richard Hale in 1947 at F&M Coffee on the east side of Detroit. The two wed in 1954, following Richards release from active duty in the Navy. Patti taught at grade schools in the Battle Creek public school system and tutored students in remedial math and reading. While raising their three children, Betsy, James, and Paul, Patti decided to pursue a Masters degree in Reading Education from Western Michigan University. She graduated in 1975. In addition to Battle Creek, Pattis teaching career included elementary schools in Arizona, Ohio, Virginia, and North Carolina. Pattis life was not without challenges. She fought and overcame the odds to beat breast cancer twice. their youngest son, a police officer, Detective Paul Hale, was killed in the line of duty in Raleigh, Richard and Patti were determined not to be victims, but to devote themselves to supporting the families of public safety officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The 200 Club of Wake of North Carolina was created for this purpose. Patti was a passionate supporter and advocate of public safety officers and became a surrogate mother to the Raleigh Police Department. Throughout her life, Patti was a devout Catholic and allowed her faith to guide her. Patti and Richard practiced daily prayer, truly embodying the very prayers that they recited each day, such as Psalm 37:5, Give yourself to the Lord, trust in Him and He will help you. Patti lived an exceptional life, defined by sharing her kindness and joyful spirit with those around her, and freely giving to others. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her selflessness and her warmth, always greeting others with a hug and sometimes a kiss. Patti enjoyed playing the piano, Madness basketball, watching the sun set from their quarter deck on Lake Michigan, happy hours that began at 5:00PM on the dot, and spending time with their many lifelong friends. Patti was fiercely devoted to her husband and her family. Throughout her life, Patti gave countless hours to her community and church. One of her favorite activities was volunteering at the Ravenscroft School library in Raleigh where two of her granddaughters attended school, was a matriarch and mother-figure to her many nieces and nephews, and never failed to remember a birthday, upcoming event, or the first day of a new season. She will be remembered as a steady, strong woman who impacted many. Patti was predeceased in death by her son, Paul Hale of Raleigh, son-in-law, Frank Fila of Chester, New Jersey, sister Shirley Damm and niece, Judy Damm, both of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. Patti is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Hale; daughter, Betsy Fila of Chester, New Jersey and son, James Hale of Winter Garden, FL; daughter in law, Connie Hale of Lexington, KY, grandchildren, Geoff Fila and wife, Jen Fila of Wilton, CT, Amy Bryant and husband, Scott Bryant of Chatham, NY, Jessie Tesh and husband, Adam Tesh of Raleigh, NC, Stephie Norris and husband, Josh Norris of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Fila of New York, NY, Isabel, Preston, and Hampton Hale of Winter Garden, FL, ; great-grandchildren, Brennan and Gregory Fila, Samantha and Jack Bryant, Parker and Dylan Tesh, Avery and Beckett Norris; a sister, Mary Arini and husband, Mitch Arini of Chesterfield Township, MI, a brother, Jim Talik and wife, Francine Talik of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 3-6 pm on , 1, 2017 at Mitchell , 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. The funeral service will be at 11 am , 2, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC.
