Obituary: Robert W. Hafeman, 90, passed away evening, 14, 2015, at Roubal and Rehab in Stephenson. He was born 29, 1924 in Powers, Michigan to Frederick and Anna Hafeman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army Air Corps on flights based in Britain. Bob later served as Postmaster of the Wallace, Michigan Post Office. He also operated a tree farm for many years. In 1987 he married the former Marilyn Knutson. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; one son, Barry (Carla) Hafeman of Lakewood, Colo.; one daughter, Patti Finney (Greg Cross) of Castro Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-daughters, Kim Schwartz and Debora Olson; one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. At his request there will be no formal funeral service and cremation will take place. Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home is assisting the family. |

Obituary: Elizabeth Jean Hafeli, Betty, age 86 and longtime resident of Line, Michigan, died , 7, 2014 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Betty was born 11, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Howard Jeffers and the late Frances (nee: Wolkins) Jeffers. Betty was raised in Detroit and graduated from East Commerce in Detroit. As a young woman, she was proud to be associated with Holy Name Catholic Churchs Young Club. Betty later married the love of her life, James Hafeli in 1947 and the new couple eventually settled in Line, Michigan to raise their young family. As Betty became a Stay at mom, she was quite active with her childrens school and the PTA. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting with ceramics, gardening, and making stained glass with her husband. As her children became grown adults, Betty could be found visiting the casinos occasionally, with MGM being her favorite. She also enjoyed playing Pinochle with her card club. Betty was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother... she will be forever missed by all with whom she was blessed to meet. Betty Hafeli was the beloved wife of the late James Hafeli, and is the dear mother of Sandy (John) Hejza, Sheri Hafeli, Karen (Jeff) Breza, and Kathy (Steve) Randlett. She is also the loving grandmother of John, Kimberly, Matthew, Danielle, Bryan, Jillian, Emily, and great-grandmother of Michael. Betty was the sister of Shirley (Ken) Supanich, Robert (the late Joyce) Jeffers, and sister in-law of Mary (Bob) Pylar, and the late Barbara Clarke. Mrs. Hafeli was the mother in-law of the late Bob Darwin, and is further survived by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation for Mrs. Hafeli will be from 3-9pm at the Christian Lighthouse Church, 57 Church St. in Mount Clemens, MI. Services will be conducted at the Church on morning at 10:00am. Memorial donations are appreciated to Seasons Hospice, 27355 John R Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071. were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons , 30009 Hoover Road in Warren. Obituary: John Ralph Hafelein, 76, passed away peacefully on , 22, 2016 in Lansing. He was born 23, 1939 in Ovid, Michigan to John Eugene and Isabel Emma (Barber) Hafelein. John was a proud Army veteran who served in Korea. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service. John loved to bowl, fish, and hunt, and was an accomplished woodworker. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Eugene Hafelein; his father-in-law, C.E. Butch McCulley; and dear friend, Allen Downey. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Hafelein; his sons, Todd Dockett and Scott (Christine) Lovejoy; his grandchildren, Daniel, Danielle, and Jonathan Dockett, and Corrie Ann Lovejoy; his great-grandson, Thomas Todd Dockett; and his sisters, Ruth Marie Lowe and Beverly Jean Helbig; his uncle, Wayne (Barbara) Barber; and numerous other family members. A retiree of General Motors, Isabel was a very loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her crocheting, crossword and cheeseburgers. She was a nature lover of her birds, deer, and most of all her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant child, Ray Eugene; grandchildren, Richard Lowe and Michael Downey; siblings, Leroy Barber, Blanche Barber, Ralph Barber and Donald Barber; and son-in-law, Russell P. Lowe. Surviving are her 2 daughters, Ruth Lowe of St. Johns, Beverly (George) Helbig of Mason; son, John (Sue) Hafelein of Leslie; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Wayne (Barbara) Barber of Flushing and Gordon Barber of Sterling Heights; and her extended family at Maplewood Adult Foster .
