David was a pastor for over 30 years. He ministered to anyone who needed it, no matter the time or place. He always made sure you knew you were loved. He truly had a Pastors heart. Some of his best times were spent at the Briarfield Academy Rebel football games, dance recitals, and cheering on his beloved Saints. He loved to hunt and fish and always shared his love for Jesus. Herrington was born May 4, 1935 at Bonita, Louisiana and passed away peacefully from this life, surrounded by her family, on 5, 2015 at St. Francis Medical in Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Herrington is preceded in death by her parents, Katie Bell and R.W. Parker; her husband, Ray Herrington; and a special friend, Lloyd Priest. Billie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bastrop, a former employee of the Bank of Morehouse, and retired postal clerk for the Bastrop Post Office. Mrs. Herrington also volunteered at the Crisis Ministry of Bastrop for many years. Billie had a gentle spirit, was kind-hearted, and had a smile to share. Always concerned about the welfare of others, Ms. Billie never turned away from helping someone in need. In accordance to her wishes, Billie donated her body to science. She desired to assist aspiring doctors in their learning so that they might share their knowledge in improving the life of others. Mrs. Herrington is survived by her son, Monty Vail and his wife, Fran; her daughter, Tammi Bayless and special friend, Jimmy Gaines; ten grandchildren, Colby Vail, Catelyn Vail, Ben Vail, Rickey Crain, Brandy Bayless, Shannon Bayless, Kalem Bayless, Ethan Bayless, Ellis Hathorn, and Teresa Hathorn; five great-grandchildren, Joe Crain, Oliver Crain, Darci Vail, Brayden Bayless, and Jaylea Bayless. She is also survived by a sister, Judy Wells and her husband, Kenneth; two brothers, Al Bo Parker and his wife, Linda and Von Parker and his wife, Sue; three step-daughters, Carolyn Adcock, Peggy Stringer, and Karen Allen; and lifelong friend and father of her children, Pete Vail. |

Obituary: AARON REECE HERRINGTON COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LA. services for Mr. Aaron Reece Herrington will be held 10:00 a.m. , 27, 2017 at Bonita Road Baptist Church. Brother Casey Johnson will officiate the services. Committal services with military honors will follow in the Bonita Road Baptist Church under the direction of Cox . The family will receive friends on , 26th, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox of Bastrop. Aaron Reece Herrington was born 19, 1924 near Bonita, Louisiana to the late Charlie Blake Herrington and Mary Whitehead Herrington. Mr. Herrington passed away , 23, 2017 at Glenwood Regional Medical in West Monroe, Louisiana. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his twelve brothers and sisters, a son-in-law, Gary M. Parker, and a great-grandson, Devin McMullan. Mr. Aaron was a member of the Bonita Road Baptist Church for over fifty years where he served both as a deacon and a school teacher. He was a veteran of the Pacific Theatre during World War II where he served as a radioman in the United States Navy. A farmer and a businessman, Mr. Herrington greatest role was that of a loving husband, father, and granddaddy. Mr. Herrington is survived by his wife of seventy-four years, Dorothy Herrington of Bastrop, Louisiana, his three daughters, Sandra Carroll and her husband Jim Carroll of Winter Haven, Florida, Sherry Hartley and her husband Gary Hartley of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Deborah Parker of Monroe, Louisiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dana McMullan, Randal Carroll, Lisa Middlebrooks, Craig Carroll, Karen Kerrigan and her husband, Tim, Helen Brantley and her husband, Trey, Jennifer Goza and her husband, Mit, and Hollie Boudreaux and her husband, Brad; sister-in-law, Frances Herrington; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family. Serving as pallbearers will be Bunnie Keith McKoin, Tim Kerrigan, Gary Hartley, Brad Boudreaux, Fredrick Herrington, Terry Hale, and Bobby Wayne Rials. Honorary pallbearers are the Senior Adult Mens School Class of Bonita Road Baptist Church. |
