Jorene enjoyed landscaping, entertaining, cooking, decorating, friends, and music---singing in numerous choirs and often at parties with friends. She did volunteer work and also served as Treasurer at Tom Heiny and Associates. In earlier years, she loved her job as Secretary at Harris Elementary School in Fort Wayne. As we said, Jorene (our Mom) loved gardening and flowers, but for some reason did not like gladiolas. When the kids were young, but able to understand what a funeral was, she always said: I do not want gladiolas at my funeral. We had no idea what they were, but we knew she didn like them! For anyone kind enough to send flowers, we kindly (and with humor) ask you to take up the cause and keep the event gladiola-free. Service is 2:00 pm, , 5, 2016 at D.O.
