Obituary: Wanda J. Hay, 67, of Evansville, passed away , 20, 2011, at her residence. She was born 17, 1943, in Evansville, IN. Wanda graduated from Central High School and Hanover . At Hanover, she majored in English and Sociology, and received the Distinguished Senior Award. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work at University of Southern Indiana. She retired from Southwestern Indiana Mental where she worked as a social worker for over twenty years. She was a member of the Methodist Temple and served in the Peace Corp in Senegal, West Africa, from 1965 to 1967. She loved to travel to China, Russia, and all over Europe. She was an avid reader and collector of many fine things, including dolls, and was the proud owner of Wandas Collectible Dolls & Gifts. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her many friends. Most of all she cherished her role as Mimi. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hay, in 1988. were married 1, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ceola Baldwin; and her brother, Tom Baldwin. She is survived by her son, John Forest Hay; daughter, Alicia Montooth (Marcus); grandchildren, Hayden and Carter Montooth; sister, Rosie Baldwin; and brothers, Kevin and Tony Baldwin. Obituary: Kary Alyne Allen Hay, 94, passed away at Kindred Transitional , Corydon, IN on 28, 2015. The daughter of Carrye Vaden Chandler Bagby and George Everett Allen, she was born on 15, 1920 in Dawson Springs, KY. Aside from a few years during her youth, she spent most of her life in Louisville. A graduate of Dawson Springs High School and Bryant Stratton Business School, she worked as a secretary until shortly after her marriage to Pirtle Hay, whom she met while both were employed at Goodwill Industries. A victim of polio from age 5, she bore her handicap with dignity, most proud of capably rearing and educating her three children. She was extremely intelligent, competent and artistic. She took pride in her beautiful penmanship. She excelled at needlework, sewing, and cooking. Until her vision failed, she read a book at least weekly, worked crossword puzzles, and meticulously kept her personal records. She had a lovely singing voice and enjoyed listening to music. Remarkably she nurtured and maintained long distance girlhood friendships. She delighted in the companionship of cats. Her faith and church affiliation sustained her. Prior to moving to Kindred last year, she had resided for several years at Cedar Court Assisted Living in Corydon so she could be near her daughter, Joan. She was preceded in death by Pirtle Hay, her husband of over 50 years; her parents; her beloved step-father, Eulus Bagby; and her brother, James Everett Allen. She is survived by her son, H. Wayne Hay (Susie) and daughter, Judie Hay Meador (John M., Jr.), both of Birmingham, AL and daughter, Joan Hay Burton (Dr. Bruce, MD) of Corydon, IN; five grandchildren, H. Wayne Hay, Jr. (Carla) of Melbourne, Australia; Shannon Hay Anderson (Andy) and Maggie Hay Edwards (Mitch) both of Birmingham; Elise Meador, Washington, DC; and John M. Meador, III, Doral, FL; five great grandchildren, Drew and Hayley Anderson, Nate and Skylar Hay and Will Edwards; sister-in-law, Wanda Allen, Severna Park, MD; several cousins, nieces and nephews, among them special nieces and phone buddies, Faye and Anna Lee Fentress and Peggy Duvall. Obituary: Allen James Hay, 97, of Evansville, passed away , 8, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born 5, 1914, in Evansville, Indiana to William (Wilhelm) and Clara S. Hay (Hey). He graduated from Bosse High School in 1932 and was hired at Servel. When Republic Aviation temporarily used Servel for the war effort, he was trained by the Air force in Farmingdale, New York as one of only eight people in the country to learn magnefluxing (a new way to detect cracks in airplane wings). As a result, he became the Quality Control Supervisor at Servel and later at Arkla Industries. He married Juanita May Lynn on 4, 1940 and they were married 67 years. had three children. He always stressed the importance of family, traveling the world and all fifty states in the US with his wife and children as well as later with his grandchildren. As a young man, curiosity took him on many adventures such as riding a bicycle to Louisville and hitchhiking around the country. He retired from Arkla in 1976 and continued his travels by organizing trips for the Arkla Retirees as well as serving as treasurer. He loved gardening-raising tomatoes, corn, strawberries, blackberries, and other vegetables to sell to area residents. Allen along with his wife, was a founding member of the Methodist Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (in 2007); parents; and brother, Earl Hay. Allen is survived by his son, Steven E. Hay and wife, Linda of Newburgh; daughter, Victoria J. Bertke and husband, Kenneth of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Nancy L. Ingram and husband, William of Bedford, Indiana; ex-daughter-in-law, Deanna Hay; grandchildren, Lori Koonce, Ellen White, Brandi LaMell, Jana Tsai, Jill Bertke, Jennifer Bowers, William Ingram, and Michael Ingram; and 13 great grandchildren.
