Obituary: Age 73, a resident of Frankfort, passed away on , 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Karyl (Gregg); loving father of Julianne (Jayson) Polad, Brett (Tania) Hobbs, and Andrea (Michael) Judge; cherished grandfather of Maxton, Luke, Jake, Sawyer, Paisley, Thomas, and Samantha; dear brother of Ronald (late Marilyn) Hobbs, Martin (Marjory) Hobbs, Lawrence (Denise) Hobbs, Leo (Gail) Hobbs, and Donald (Teresa) Hobbs, as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Gertrude Hobbs (Flynn), and sister Mary Rita Hobbs. Greg graduated from St. Procopius with a degree in Philosophy. teaching junior high English at St. Marys of Mokena where he met his wife Karyl, Greg owned and operated Manhattan Real Estate and Manhattan Agency for the past 42 years. Greg was a long-time Board Director of the First Bank of Manhattan. He was a founding, current, and two-time President of the Lincoln-Way Foundation Board of Excellence. As an active member of the Joliet Country Club, Greg served as board president for two terms and greens and ground coordinator. Greg enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, boating, the Cubbies, Bears and most importantly spending time with his family. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on , 17, 2017 from 4-8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave, Mokena, IL 60448 on , 18, 2017 at 11:30 AM.
